Pro Wrestling ZERO1 held the first show of its Fire Festival tournament today in Shinjuku FACE.
The full results were:
• El Lindaman and SUGI def. Shinjiro Otani and Shoki Kitamura
• B block: Tsugutaka Sato def. Chris Vice
• A block: Takuya Sugawara vs. Yoshikazu Yokoyama – Double Countout
• A block: Quiet Storm def. Towa Iwasaki
• B block: Yuko Miyamoto def. Masato Tanaka
• B block: Takafumi def. Hayato Tamura
• A block: T-Hawk def. Yuji Hino
El Lindaman pinned Shoki Kitamura in the opening match. Afterwards, he challenged Kitamura to a match in Korakuen Hall on November 1.
Unlike other round-robin tournaments, the scoring system for the Fire Festival is slightly different.
Five points are awarded for victory by pinfall, submission or knockout. Four points are awarded for victory by referee stoppage, countout or disqualification. Three points are awarded for a draw (there is a 30-minute time limit for all block matches) and zero points are awarded for a loss.

Shockingly, Takafumi defeated Hayato Tamura in under two minutes. Tamura holds the World Heavyweight Championship.

Unfortunately, CIMA will miss ZERO1’s upcoming Fire Festival shows on October 4, 10, 11 and 12.
CIMA was hit by a car while riding his bicycle on September 29 and suffered a broken nose.

CIMA was scheduled to team with El Lindaman and Shinjiro Otani against Hide Kubota, Takuya Sugawara and Yasu Kubota on October 4. His matches on October 10, 11 and 12 had not been confirmed.
Instead, El Lindaman and Shinjiro Otani will face Hide Kubota and Yasu Kubota.
While CIMA will not be competing, ZERO1 has confirmed for the full cards for its October 10, 11 and 12 shows.
