HOW TO IDENTIFY ONLINE VIDEO GAMING SCAMS

By Kendall Jenkins on 2020-09-28 15:42:00

One out of ten adults will fall into online scams, according to the Federal trade commission in the United States alone. These numbers are jumping like foxes every year. Although the Government has launched many awareness campaigns for the general public. But the results are not affecting their efforts.

The attraction of money is so powerful that no human can restrain his desire and wants for the money offered by scammers. Sometimes they use fake IDs of girls and trap the youngsters.

So how can we make sure that the game we are going to enjoy has nothing to with scams? They’re safe and protected like Judi online and there’s nothing that can harm us or our kids? Here are the things you need to know as precautions before getting yourself indulged in any sort of online video games.

Set a strong password

You might have faced that situation where good sites suggest you to strengthen your password. That means you need to make it long and use upper and lower case letters with special signs and counting as well.

For instance, “Cartoon-Gog-15-Tea-Goat” is a perfect password that can protect your digital accounts like Facebook, LinkedIn, and online gaming logins.

Don’t believe on fake emails

The scammers are so smart that they try to set a trap in such a way that it doesn't look fake for an ordinary person. You might get an email where it says, “Dear user, your account security is in threat. Therefore, we need to update your password as soon as possible…”

Never open these kinds of links sent to your email accounts. They’re all scams and would cost you a heavy loss, both in terms of money and goodwill.

Better playing with VPN

Nowadays, even a ten-year-old kid who’s playing online video games is using a VPN (Virtual Private Network). This VPN enables you to use fake locations and provides you a unique IP (Internet Protocol) address to confuse the hackers and scammers.

They can’t find your exact IP and as a result, there are fewer chances that they can attack your computer system directly. These VPNs are free of cost & one can easily install them from play stores or search engines directly.

By summing up, the scammers are smart so you should be one step ahead of them. Simply use a unique password, don’t answer to fake emails, and install a VPN for permanent security while playing games.
