COMPLETE AEW BONUS DYNAMITE COVERAGE

By Cory Strode on 2020-09-23 01:37:00

It's Tuesday Night, er..Wednesday AM, it's Daily's Place, it's Jacksonville Florida, and it's WAY past my bedtime, but we've got AEW Late Night!  Does that mean we get a monologue from MJF, Jericho's Fozzy as the house band and interviews with celebrities with books or TV shows starting up this week?

No, we get Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, and Excalibur at the announce table and we've got an hour long show.  So, let's get started!

Coming out as the show starts is Chris Jericho who comes to join the announce team.  They go down the matches for the night, and we have three matches for this hour.

Coming to the ring next is Ben Carter making his Dynamite debut.  Next out is Scorpio Sky, who should be getting more time on Dynamite.

Scorpio Sky vs Ben Carter

They lock up and Scorpio goes behind with an arm bar.  Carter reverses and brings Sky down with an armbar.  Sky reverses and they get to their feet trading holds.  Sky pushes Carter into the ropes and brings him down with a drop down leg drag, They get to their feet and Sky dodges an arm drag, takes down Carter and rolls him up for a two count.  They get up and Carter hits the arm drag this time and the match resets.

They tie up again and Sky muscles Carter into the corner, where he has to break, but pulls Carter out and whips him back into the corner.  Carter tries for a leaping cross body but misses, and Sky does the same, but hits and gets barely a one count. Carter gets an arm drag and holds Sky down on the mart.  Sky forces his way up and gets a strike in to get free.  He puts Carter in the corner, whips to the opposite corner and Carter flips his way out and continues across the ring. He comes back, and they run the ropes.  Carter gets a waist lock followed by a drop kick and Sky rolls out of the ring.

Sky cools off outside the ring and then climbs back in, with Carter not pressing his advantage.  They hook up again and Sky locks on an armbar.  Carter works out of it, they run the ropes.  Sky is able to stop him with a knee lift and a drop kick.  Sky brings him up, tosses him to the ropes, gives Carter a punch to the midsection and follows with a Russian leg sweep and a cover for a two count.

Sky picks Carter up for a drop across his knee and Sky keeps him on his knee for a bow and arrow stretch. He moves it to an abdominal stretch. Carter escapes with strikes and Sky stops him with strikes of his own. Carter whips Sky into the corner and keeps him there with chops.  Carter walks out of the corner and when he comes back, Sky drops him with a blow to the face. Sky then gives Carter both feet to the face with a stomp and we get a commercial...

When we come back, Sky picks Carter up, whips him into the ropes and drops him with a back elbow. Sky covers for a two count.  Carter pulls himself to the apron.  Sky tries to bring him in the hard way twice, and Carter is able to block it and nails Sky with a front face kick.  Carter then hits an Asai Moonsault into a reverse DDT and covers Sky for the two count. Carter then hits a running shooting star press on Sky for another two count.

Sky rolls out of the ring again to gather himself.  Carter runs to the corner, leaps over the ropes onto the apron for a leap onto Sky, but Sky dodges and gives Carter a kick once he lands. Sky rolls in to break the count and rolls out to set up Carter on the apron.  Sky slams his head on the apron, goes for a leg drop, and Carter rolls out of the way and drops to the floor.  Carter hits a tope onto Sky.  Sky is tossed back in, Carter climbs to the top for a frog splash and covers for a two count.

Sky is busted open over his eye.  He is able to hit the hanging neck breaker on Carter and cover for a two count only. Sky is frustrated with how Carter is able to kick out.  Sky tries to hit a fisherman's buster, but Carter blocks it and rains down blows on Sky.  Carter tries for a trust kick, but Sky blocks it, and Carter hits a lumbar kick instead.  Carter tries to get in a suplex, but Sky reverses it for a Fisherman buster and a two count.

Sky tries to lock on a sharp shooter, but Carter kicks his way free.  Sky tries to pick him up but Carter escapes and rolls Sky up for a quick two count.  Carter tries for a pair of kicks, but Sky dodges, hits Carter with a drop kick to his legs and then leaps to hit a double stomp on Carter's back.  Sky picks Carter up and tosses him to the ropes and nails a kick to the face.  Sky hits him with the TKO and covers for the three count.

Your winner: Scorpio Sky

After the match, Sky offers Carter and hand to help him up and they embrace.

We get a video package showing us the feud between Lance Archer and Jon Moxley and what led up to the six man tag match tomorrow, er today, er tonight.

As we come back, the Dark Order is on their way to the ring for Anna Jay's match.  The Dark Order goes to the back and we go to commercial...

When we come back, Brandi is on her way to the ring by herself, and gets in the ring and pastes Anna Jay a few times.  They trade blows and the bell rings.

Brandi Rhodes vs Anna Jay

Brandi takes down Anna with a spear and Anna rolls to the apron.  Brandi follows and hits Anna with a DDT and they are both outside the ring.  Brandi whips Anna into the barricade and then tosses her back into the ring and continues the beat down.  After coming off the ropes, Anna is able to lock on a sleeper hold.  Brandi drops down and pulls Anna over for a two count.

Brandi drops Anna with a clothesline and a two count.  Brandi mounts Anna and rains down blows.  They both get up and go to the corner, where they fight and Anna is able to put Brandi on the second turnbuckle facing outward.  She rakes the back and then stomps on Brandi, dropping her to the mat. Anna drags her to the middle of the ring for a one count.  Anna starts kicking Brandi in the corner and hits a snap suplex onto Brandi.  Brandi gets stomped in the opposite corner and then chokes Brandi with her foot until the ref break.

Anna hits Brandi with a flipping neck breaker and covers for a two count.  Anna locks on a submission hold and Brandi gets to her feet and fights her way free.  Anna is able to hit s back elbow onto Brandi and both women are down.  The ref counts to five and both women are up.  Brandi blocks strikes from Anna, then hits a pair of clotheslines. She whips Anna into the ropes and hits a slingblade.  Stu Grayson comes out to interfere, and Evil Uno stops him.  While the ref is dealing with them, Brandi hits a pump kick and covers for what would have been a three count, but is only a two.

WHERE IS MY DICK GRAYSON REFERENCE?  I think for the first time Ever, JR doesn't make a Dick Grayson reference when Stu Grayson is on the screen.

Anna hits a Jay kick and locks Brandi in the Queen slayer sleeper hold.  Brandi goes out and Anna Jay wins

Your winner:  Anna Jay

We go to commercials and next up is the main event!

We go backstage for Scorpio Sky with Alex Marvez. Sky puts over Ben Carter and then says he is going for the title.  Matt Sydal comes in and says that Sky is awesome. Alex asks Matt about the battle royal.  Matt says he had some impressive eliminations and Sky reminds him that he eliminated his opponent tonight and he needs to do what he does.  Sky says they can go out and get some drinks when they are done.

He says Alex can come along as well, dispassionately.

They show the GOOD stuff Sydal did at the Battle Royal at All Out.

They then show a video package hyping the Brodie Lee vs Orange Cassidy match for tomorrow night.

Matt Sydal comes out first, big smile on his face.  Sean Spears comes out with a mask and a Black Glove.  He takes the mask off and he is still with Tully Blanchard, so I guess they are still together.

Matt Sydal vs. Shawn Spears with Tully Blanchard

Shawn is at least a head taller than Matt.  He forces Matt into the corner, and the ref breaks it up, but not before Spears gets in a face wash.  They go to the center and trade waist locks and head locks.  They then trade wrist locks and Matt is able to pull Spears over with a hip toss and holds a headlock on him on the mat for a one count. Matt keeps the headlock on and Spears struggles to his feet.  They run the ropes and Matt is able to get another hip toss and holds Spears down with a modified arm bar.

He moves it to a headlock, and Spears has to fight his way back up again. Spears is able to drive Matt headfirst into a turnbuckle and gives him a chop before tossing him out of the ring.  Spears leaps over the top rope, lands on the apron and goes for a kick, but Matt sweeps the leg and Spears is dropped onto the apron.

Matt tosses Spears into the ring, and Spears is able to hit a sliding drop kick into Matt.  Matt gets in the ring and hits a leg lariat.  Matt follows up with a kick to the back and a cover for a one count.  Matt slaps on an arm hold and we go to commercial.

When we get back, Spears is on the turnbuckle and Matt hits a leaping Hurricanrana. He follows up with quad kicks and rolls up Spears for a two count.  They get up, Matt hits a roundhouse kick and The Slice and covers for a two count. Matt follows up with a standing Torkneedo (a moonsault where you land face side up on your opponent( and covers him for a two count.  Matt drags Spears to the corner and drops knees to keep him on the mat.  Spears is up anyway with Matt holding him in a headlock. Matt climbs up for a spinning DDT, but Spears is able to escape.

Matt tries for a Hurrancanrana, but Spears blocks it and takes down Matt with a sit down powerbomb and a cover. Two count only. They struggle to their feet and Spears hits a chop that drops Matt to his knees.  Matt is up and they trade chops, and forearms.  Matt hits a roundhouse kick. Spears picks Matt up for the muscle buster and they both lay on the mat, spent. The ref counts and Spears is up at four.  He leans on the ropes and then waits for Matt to start getting up.  Matt gets up and is picked up by Spears, who wants to hit a C4, but Matt grabs the ropes to stop it.  Spears drops him on the ramp way and Matt snaps Spears's neck on the top rope.

Matt hits another roundhouse kick. He then hits a Meteora and covers for a two count. Spears rolls to the floor and sits in a chair. Tully comes over to coach, but sees Matt run in for a shotgun drop kick and gets out of the way.  Spears is taken out and lays on the floor as Matt takes the chair into the ring.  As Matt holds the chair aloft in the ring, Tully slips the steel into Spears's glove.

Matt drops the chair and goes out to bring Spears into the ring.  He rolls Spears into the ring, Matt goes to the top.   Spears recovers and as he runs toward Matt, Matt leaps over him.  Spears pics Matt up for the C4, but Matt escapes out the back door and grabs the legs to bring Spears down.  Spears nails Matt in the head with the loaded Black Glove.

Spears then hits the C4 and covers Matt for the three count.

Your winner:  Shawn Spears

After the match, Spears sets up to hit Matt again with the loaded glove and Scorpio Sky comes from the back to run him off.
