THREE AEW RELEASES

By Mike Johnson on 2020-08-13 21:38:00

All Elite Wrestling removed several international members of their roster from their website today.  PWInsider.com has confirmed all three have been released - British stars Jimmy Havoc, Bea Priestley and Sadie Gibbs.  It should be noted the company has not officially announced the departures.

Gibbs, thus far, is the only one to acknowledge her AEW exit on Instagram and Twitter:

Havoc was announced in June as taking time off to receive "treatment and counseling in an effort to overcome the mental health and substance abuse challenges in his life."  That announcement came on the heels of Havoc being accused of an alleged sexual assault in Great Britain, which allegedly took place several years prior to his signing with AEW.  In June, AEW stated they would "evaluate" his position with the company after Havoc completed treatment.  Havoc has not commented on his departure. He had signed with AEW in February 2019.  Prior to his time with AEW, Havoc was with MLW, but that deal expired in February of this year and before that was a regular for PROGRESS, ICW and a number of other international promotions.

Bea Priestley debuted at Fight for the Fallen 2019 and last appeared for the company in March 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic made it impossible for her to travel into the United States for bookings.  Priestley has not commented on her release as of this writing.  There had been WWE interest in her before she signed with AEW and she was part of the World of Sport Wrestling revival several years back, holding that promotion's Women's Championship.  Priestley announced last year she moving to Japan to live there full-time.  She last performed for AEW on the 3/11 edition of Dynamite.

While none of the talents could travel into the United States to perform currently due to the ongoing pandemic, one would think that in the case of at least Gibbs and Priestley, there is always a chance for a return when the landscape changes.
