Preparing the suitcase for travel can be a challenge, especially if you are going to do it with very little time in advance. The rush and organizing all the clothes and accessories for your trip without the necessary tranquility will result in it being very likely that you will forget things that you will need at your destination. Therefore, we offer you five tips to make it always perfect:
1.- Don't leave it for the last day
To avoid displeasure and travel completely calm, anticipate, start doing it a few days before. Use, if necessary, a list in which you have in writing all the clothes and toiletries that you will need. As you complete your inventory, cross it off and take it for granted. Reusing and improving this list, removing everything that was unnecessary and adding what you needed, will save you a lot of time on future trips. This will create an efficient method that will work for you.
2.- Choose the most appropriate way to carry your things
Think about what places you will have to go. If you are going to go from the airport to the hotel and the suitcase is going to take care of the room until you leave, then opt for one with wheels, if it is made of fabric you will have more flexibility and space. If it is rigid it will weigh more, but your belongings will be much better protected from the outside. If you are going to go through the mountains and you have to take your belongings with you, your choice, without a doubt, will be a backpack.
3.- Order all your clothes well to take advantage of the maximum space available in your suitcase
In this case, the technique to use will depend on your type of suitcase. If you use a wheelchair, place anything that is heavier, such as shoes or pants, at the bottom. In the case of backpacks, try to place the heaviest in the center and, at the top, everything that you will need during the day, such as the toiletry bag or pajamas. A general rule of thumb for all of them is not to leave any free gaps and that the final result is as light as possible.
4.- Take with you what is most voluminous
If the weather is going to be cool, carry all the very bulky clothing on or on hand. In this way, you will save a lot of space that will be available for other purposes. This trick is especially useful in the cases of hand luggage, where every gap must be used.
5.- Store your shoes in a bag
Shoes are heavy and take up space, but many times it is essential to wear them. You should also add to the above that they are very likely to stain clothes, so it is a very good idea to put them in a bag before placing them.
