WWE EXTREME RULES EVENT PREVIEW

By Kendall Jenkins on 2020-07-20 12:44:00

Extreme Rules is an annual event in World Wrestling Entertainment and in 2020 it will be held on the 19th of July. Entitled ‘The Horror Show at Extreme Rules’, the event will be screened live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Extreme Rules events have been part of the WWE portfolio since 2009 and include matches contested under hardcore rules. However, this will be the first Extreme Rules event to have a title specific to the event.

The Horror Show at Extreme Rules will feature wrestlers from both the Raw and SmackDown WWE brands. Several matches will take place over the course of the evening including one for the WWE Championship featuring defending champion Drew McIntyre up against Dolph Ziggler.

Many fans believed there would be a rematch between McIntyre and Bobby Lashley but it was not to be and Ziggler threw down a challenge to the champion on Monday Night Raw. Ziggler recently moved to Raw from Smackdown and McIntyre did not take much persuading to accept the offer. There is sure to be some sort of gimmick match stipulation agreed between the two in the lead up to the match and it will be interesting to see what they have in store for the fans.

Moving to the Raw Women's Championship and we can look forward to a match between Asuka and Sasha Banks. Asuka is the defending champion and she has had a lot to deal with in recent weeks, seeing off the challenge of both Nia Jax and Charlotte Flair. However, the opportunity has been handed to Banks after she challenged Asuka following the defeat of tag team The IIconics. Despite accepting the offer, Asuka was attacked by Banks and her tag team partner, who left her in a heap in the ring.

In conjunction with enjoying the evening of extreme wrestling, you can place bets on the matches. Many of the world’s top online bookmakers provide WWE odds in addition to a wealth of other sports betting markets. Whether you are looking to bet on the winner of a WWE match or you want to take advantage of the latest in game odds, you can do it all using apps such as Paddy Power.

One of the biggest matches at Horror Show at Extreme Rules is between Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt. This will be a Wyatt Swamp Fight match which means this will be the latest WWE cinematic offering. Expect to see plenty of stunts and special moments although Strowman can relax a little as his Universal Championship will not be on the line.

Other highly anticipated matches to look out for at Horror Show at Extreme Rules include the SmackDown Women's Championship between Bayley and Nikki Cross, an Eye for an Eye meeting which sees Rey Mysterio take on Seth Rollins, Apollo Crews vs MVP and the possibility of a contest between Randy Orton and Big Show.
