5 TIPS FOR DATING A WWE WRESTLING FAN

By Kendall Jenkins on 2020-07-13 07:02:00

There's wrestling, then there's WWE wrestling. There former was introduced to the Olympic games in 708 B.C., two combatants engaging in an intensely physical contest, twisting and grappling for the upper hand. The latter, involving outlandishly-dressed, larger-than-life characters seems more like a circus event. But WWE wrestling fans, even if they secretly accept there's choreography involved, adore their 'sport.' It is so popular there's every chance you'll come across a WWE fan on a dating site. If you meet someone you like who has listed WWE amongst their passions, here are five tips compiled for you by dating experts from Flirtycuties.com:

This is not a phase

The first thing you have to understand about this WWE fan is this. They will be a fan in the dictionary derivation of that word. Fanatic. Being obsessed with WWE bouts and competitions isn't something they are going to grow out of after a while, like that indie band whose first two albums they bought and now never listen to. This is a full-time commitment. They will be dedicated to their partner first and their wrestling compulsion second. But there will be occasions when that hierarchy seems blurred, to say the least. The best advice: grin and bear it.

Learn about WWE wrestling

The whole WWE scene, with its array of flamboyant competitors, regular events, and impassioned followers, will seem bewildering at first. But the key to making the most of your time as the significant other of a wrestling zealot is to dispel some of the mystique. The more you find out about WWE, the increased likelihood there will be of you not only coming to terms with your partner's crazed infatuation but growing to like aspects of it. Nobody will be expecting you to accompany them to the arena dressed in complete costume, but you can certainly join in the chanting and banter if you have some idea of what's going on.

Live with their frenzied emotions

Rather than get irritated by the way your WWE-adoring partner lets their emotions get the better of them when they're watching the umpteenth re-run of their favorite wrestler's signature finisher, go with the flow. Accept the strength of their passions. After all, this fervent behavior might well be an indicator of how hot things could get later on in the evening when the TV is finally silent and you've retired to the bedroom.

Get them to live with yours

It's important to place the love of WWE into perspective. Even the most fanatical of fans will have a soft spot for other aspects of your relationship. No wrestling enthusiast is so blinkered they won't succumb to some far more basic stimuli that watching great lummoxes throwing each other across a canvas. Treat them to a fabulous meal, throw in chilled wine and seductive music, and you might be able to wrestle that remote control away from easy grasp. Tempt them away from the wrestling channel by whispering a few sweet nothings and guiding them towards the bed you've decorated with rose pedals. Success isn't guaranteed, but it's certainly worth a try.

Get with the program

When you're dating a WWE fan you'll need to pay close attention to the busy schedule of bouts. You might think of planning a holiday or romantic weekend getaway, but if there's any chance of your dates clashing with Wrestlemania, SummerSlam, the Royal Rumble, or the Survivor Series, you can think again. It might take a little getting used to at first, but you'll have to work your social life around the WWE season, and not visa versa.
