The Mahoning Drive-in in Lehighton, PA, which runs nothing but retro-themed film weekends will kick off their pro wrestling-themed weekend tonight and tomorrow, Saturday 8/15, featuring films, live wrestling and more. Priced at $10 per person, the weekend will feature:
Before each night, a wrestling ring, set up in front of their movie screen will feature live action from the LVAC, a local independent promotion. If anyone attends and wants to send a live report, feel free to email me by clicking my name above.
On Friday 8/14, when the sun goes down, they will then screen:
-1986's Bodyslam the Movie starring Roddy Piper, The Tonga Kid, Lou Albano, Dirk Benedict and more, with cameos from Ric Flair, Bruno Sammartino and others.
-2000's Ready to Rumble starring David Arquette and featuring the stars of WCW.
On Saturday 8/15, when the sun goes down, they will screen:
-1991's Suburban Commando, starring Hulk Hogan and featuring The Undertaker, among others.
-A second mystery film that will not be revealed until showtime.
Note from Mike: I've been to Mahoning in the past and they have never failed to not produce a great evening. I cannot recommend them enough and I'd highly suggest looking into their other programming this summer as well. They always load up the evening with additional special material including old trailers themed to their event, etc.
