WWE: TOP 5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT DATING A WRESTLING FAN

By Kendall Jenkins on 2020-04-20 09:57:00

So you've connected with someone really interesting on a dating site like this and are already planning your first get-together? After all, online dating is a fantastic way of reaching out to other singles. Matchmaking websites let you build a partial picture of someone before you connect.

But how about this scenario! When you exchanged information about your hobbies, your prospective partner admitted they were big on WWE. You shrugged at this admission, thinking interest in sport is hardly going to impact on your blossoming relationship too much. But what you need to appreciate about wrestling fans is this. What they feel about WWE is not an interest. It's an obsession. Here are the top five things you need to be aware of dating a fan.

WWE isn't just for the events. It's a 24/7 thing

Your wrestling fan isn't going to be able to switch off between those peak moments of their sport. There will be times where their interest intensifies, such as WrestleMania, running from mid-March to mid-April each year, watched by upwards of 100,000 baying fans inside the host arena. What happens after the final slapdown and the awarding of the various titles? Your partner will be equally enthusiastic about watching re-runs of all the action. After that, there will be re-runs to watch from last year's event. Then the year before. You get the picture?

This interest isn't going to fade

There are hobbies we have as kids, whether we're crazy about building models for a while. Teenagers might obsess about reading Harry Potter or the Twilight series before moving on. Wrestling fanaticism is constant. It's your partner's default mode, and much as you might hope and anticipate the day they give up on watching their favorite celeb wrestlers throwing each other around the canvas, don't hold your breath. You should accept that the odds are this infatuation will be life-long.

Beware - a love of WWE can be infectious

There's an adage that goes along the lines, if you can't beat them, join them. You must have heard that? Of course you have. No matter how hard you try to deny the prospect, there is a possibility, no matter how remote that might seem at the time, that you might get into WWE yourself. It's common enough for couples to share pastimes, for the sheer enthusiasm one of them has for their interest to rub off on the other. If you feel yourself getting drawn into the spectacle, just go with it. You might well become an even more passionate fan!

Passion will stretch way beyond wrestling

Here's something you might not have considered when you're getting annoyed at your partner's actions and dreaming up ways to dissuade them from their hobby. If they're so passionate about watching grown men and women becoming extremely physical with each another in a sporting arena, watching musclebound athletes in the peak of physical fitness grabbling, why shouldn't this level of commitment not extend elsewhere? After they've been immersed in a few hours of physicality, it might be an opportune moment to whisper sweet nothings about an enjoyable bout in the bedroom.

Never judge or stereotype a WWE fan

Finally, treat your partner's infatuation or mania as a charming aspect of their personality. Perhaps unfathomable to you at the best of times, but endearing all the same. It demonstrates passion and enthusiasm, which are positive traits. Never look upon their hobby through critical or subjective eyes, and especially avoid considering WWE fans as being stereotypes. Your partner will be equally passionate about you.
