How much say do talents have in their ring names in WWE, AEW, etc.?
It depends on the situation in WWE. They are often given the chance to make suggestions or to give feedback on potential names but they are the final decision of the company. In AEW, we haven't seen anyone really be assigned a ring name yet. They have mostly continued on with what they were using elsewhere or on the independent scene.
I haven't received a Wrestlemania or Hall of Fame refund. Any update on that?
So, it was said that refunds would come 30 days after the cancellation of the events. WWE announced Wrestlemania was being moved to the WWE Performance Center on March 16th officially, so we have some time until we hit April 16th or so. My assumption is that refunds will start popping up around that time.
Do you think WWE would be better off just creating different environments for talents to wrestle in as opposed to continuing with the empty PC?
In a perfect world, yes, but given the current pandemic they are best advised, in my mind, to stay in the PC, an environment they completely control and can sanitize and clean to the best of their ability themselves.
What do you think WWE would have done for programming if they hadn't opened the PC years ago?
That is a hell of a question. It's possible they would have gone the route that Impact is going, finding a studio on private property that they could control and utilize but that's a big maybe. I think WWE finds themselves extremely lucky that they have the PC and to me, this is a good argument in that they need additional ones.
Could NXT UK broadcast out of the PC in the UK?
I think it's at least a possibility, although I don't believe that PC is as large and doesn't have all the broadcast capabilities that WWE's building in Orlando has. It all depends on the local laws there as well, but if they could make it look presentable, certainly they could tape content out of there and send it back here for post-production - at least theoretically.
