Everyone who appeared on (and worked behind the scenes for) last night's episode of AEW Dynamite did so voluntarily, PWInsider.com is told. AEW's Tony Khan had told the roster previously that if anyone felt they didn't want to travel or perform in the current situation, they could sit out and they would still be paid. Everyone at the show made the decision they wanted to come and work the taping. Those who would have sat out (and any that did) would have been paid as if they worked the taping.
The hope is to continue to be live every week, but those in the promotion were very aware that given the state of the world right now, that could easily change.
Matt Hardy will replace Nick Jackson in the Blood and Guts match. Jackson being off was a pre-planned break as his family is expecting a new addition.
Brodie Lee was always planned as the Exalted One once AEW confirmed he would be free and coming to them. AEW leaned into the tease that it would be Matt Hardy to help mask Lee's debut.
All signs are that the Blood and Guts match will be pushed back from 3/25.
Announced for next week's Dynamite show:
*Wardlow vs. Luchasaurus in a Lumberjack match:
*The Lucha Bros vs. Best Friends in a Parking Lot Street Fight.
AEW did film Dark prior to Dynamite going on the air. All we have heard is that Sugar Dunkerton worked that taping.
All Elite Wrestling released the opening of last night's Dynamite, which had a great promo from Cody:
