Wrestlers can be incredibly fun to watch when they are in the ring, but what happens when they try to pursue an acting career?
Wrestling can be extremely entertaining, especially if you are a WWE fan. While your girlfriend or sister is enjoying playing at 888 Ladies and winning at bingo and slots, you can relax and watch TV.
But what happens when you come across your favorite wrestler in a movie or a TV show, and your feelings are mixed? You can either be proud of their appearance, laugh about it, or head to Vegas Rush Casino to try and forget it by playing roulette and other casino games.
Wrestlers are entertainers, which is why many of them have tried to become a part of the TV industry. We singled out the most memorable appearances of our favorite athletes. It is up to you to decide whether they merit an Oscar, or they should never be shown again!
Let’s start with arguably the most famous wrestler to play in movies and TV shows. To be precise, this is the most popular wrestler who had numerous appearances, but none of them as ambitious as the Thunder in Paradise.
Hogan played the main protagonist in the TV show, and it was a character we all envied. He owned a boat that was extremely modern and equipped with the latest technology. The boat assisted Hogan and his team to fight the bad guys.
We also saw Jimmy Hart, Sting, and others as guest stars in this show, but even that didn’t help. Thunder in Paradise was bad, and it never got renewed after the first season.
Apart from this, Hogan also played in No Holds Barred, Suburban Commando, Rocky III, and many other movies. Today, he is a memorable wrestler and a member of the WWE Hall of Fame.
It is interesting to note he was evicted from the Hall of Fame after using racist language. However, WWE reinstated Hogan, and he is now a part of this house once again.
Dwayne Johnson is a guy that actually succeeded, and many fans love him. The Rock has had an amazing Hollywood career so far. The latest Jumanji sequel is fantastic, and we also love the weirdness of the Baywatch remake.
However, it took a while for the Rock to establish himself as a reputable actor. He might be making a lot of money now, but he started with small roles. The initial TV appearance of Dwayne Johnson was in That 70’s Show.
The Rock appeared in this sitcom as Rocky Johnson. For those that do not follow the wrestling scene closely, Rocky Johnson is The Rock’s father! Yes, he played his dad, which might have made things weird.
Despite that, The Rock was great, and his cameo only proved that the producers of the show knew how to select their actors. Today, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are also huge stars, and the rest of the cast has some memorable roles, too.
The Undertaker might be the best character ever created by WWE. He is unique and amazing, which is why millions of WWE fans love him.
However, there is another reason why we like the Undertaker. Unlike other characters, we never knew much about this guy. WWE tried to keep that mystery by keeping him out of promotional events, but we found a movie starring our favorite character.
If you haven’t watched Poltergeist: The Legacy, find a way to watch it right away. The Undertaker is a part of the cast, and he plays the Sole Chaser. The guy is a demon and the Minister of Darkness, which perfectly fits the character.
That was a fine choice by the producers, but they failed with the next one. No one loved seeing the Biker Undertaker, which is why this transformation received bad reviews.
Imagine this reality show – you have carefully chosen contestants, a spacious and attractive terrain, and a bunch of bounty hunters going after them. The only thing to do to win the main prize is to avoid becoming a pray before the hunters catch everyone else.
That was an exciting concept of the Manhunt, which was shot in Hawaii, and John Cena was a part of it. Unfortunately for the wrestler, a huge scandal emerged and canceled the show. The reporters discovered that the producers rigged some scenes to make them more exciting compared to what actually happened. It was disastrous for the show’s reputation, but John Cena didn’t give up on his acting career. He appeared in The Marine, 12 Rounds, Legendary, etc.
You probably know Mizanin under his nickname The Miz. Unlike other wrestlers, his career started in reality TV. Everything started with The Real World in 2001 on MTV when Mizanin spent several months living in a house with a bunch of other people. Over the years, the Miz had great success in reality TV shows. WWE noticed him, and that is how he became a part of this house in 2004.
