NWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP BOUT & MORE: 3/3 NWA POWERRR TV REPORT

By Anthony Pires on 2020-03-03 19:23:00

We begin with the very odd happenings last week involving Thunder Rosa and Melina

I miss Dokken so much.  Be that as it may, we are at the GPB Studios in Atlanta, GA.  Joe Galli and Stu Bennett are on commentary.

Sean Mooney welcomes us with a preview of tonight’s show, two big title matches are on tap.

NWA TV Title Match: Ricky Starks (NWA TV Champion) vs The Outlandish Zicky Dice.

Dice blows a kiss at the champ.  Dice with a go behind waistlock.  Starks powers out and we’ve got a push up contest.  Starks with a series of right hands, he slams Dice into the buckle.  A flying forearm and a shoulder tackle get a 2 count.  Dice rolls out and pulls Starks out.  He gets the advantage and wraps Starks around the post.  Sliding dropkick by Dice for 1.  Rear chinlock by Dice.  Dice takes him down with a hairpull.  3:05 remains.  Starks blocks a northern Lights.  Starks can’t execute a DDT but hits a falcon arrow for 2.  Dice reverses a whip and sends Starks into the buckle.  Snake, Rattle and Roll gets a 2 as Starks gets a foot in the rope.  Dice grabs the fanny pack and throws it to Starks, who promptly gives it to the referee.  90 seconds remain.  Starks with a atomic drop.  He goes for a sunset flip but Dice drops down and hooks his legs for the pin.

WINNER: Zicky Dice (New NWA TV Champion)

The new champion takes a victory lap around the studio and joins Dave Marquez.  Thomas Lattimer immediately interrupts and demands Joe Galli come over to the podium.  He vows that next week, the greatest thing since sliced bread, Kamille, will speak.

Sean Mooney welcomes us.  We’re told the first 4 rows of the Crockett Cup have sold out.  We go to highlights of last Wednesday’s press conference at the Gateway Center.  Scurll comes off as humble and makes a hard sell for fans to come out.  Aldis comes off as very confident as he heads to Atlanta.

We get a look at Aron Stevens’ attack on Trevor Murdoch last week after Murdoch’s victory over the Question Mark.

Dave Marquez is with Stevens and The Question Mark.  Stevens reiterates they want more belts.  They call out the Rock n Roll Express.  Ricky and Robert, never ones to shy away from a challenge, come out.  Stevens gets off some classic old man jokes at their expense.  Stevens offers them a role in his next movie.  The Rock and Rolls are ready for a fight, instead.  Looks like we’ve got a match for next week.

We see highlights from the post match altercation last week where Kamille speared Allysin Kay.  Kamille eyeballs Thunder Rosa, clearly wanting her NWA Women’s Title.

Last Chance Match (Losers will not have their NWA Contract renewed)- Tornado Rules: Zane and Dave Dawson vs. CW Anderson and Kaleb Conley.

The Dawsons jump their opponents at the bell.  Konley lays into Zane, shoving him into the corner and connecting with a knee strike.  Big dropkick by Konley, followed by a superkick.  Dave hits Konley from behind and shoves him from the ring.  Dave and CW trade blows, elbowdrop misses by Dave.  CW with a splash for one.  Zane clothelines Anderson.  Double suplex by the Dawsons for 2.  Konley eats a Dave Dawson right.  Sidewalk slam/splash combination by the Dawsons on Conley for 2.  CW reverses an irish whip and sends the Dawsons colliding.  Konley with a dropkick off the top rope.  Dawsons catch Konley on the rebound and hit a double powerbomb for 2.  A pair of avalanches by the Dawsons on Anderson gets a 2 count.  Dave’s momentum sends him over the top rope.  Anderson with a spinebuster on Zane and Konley with a moonsault for the pin.

WINNERS: CW Anderson and Caleb Konley

The NWA fans chant “Goodbye Dawsons”

We see last week when the Pope paid off the Bouncers to attack Eddie Kingston.

Programming note: Circle Squared episodes 2 & 3 next week.  Powerrr returns March 17th.

Joe Galli brings out May Valentine and her BFF, Sal Rinauro.  Joe admits that he follows May’s Vlog religiously.  Sal will be assisting May in her new lingerie line.  Lucky guy.  Sal considers his broken arm to be a good thing, since he got to be BFFs with May.  Galli invites her to film her vlog right there in the studio.  She obliges.  Royce Isaacs comes out and he is not happy, threatening to break Rinauro’s other arm.

The Pope and the Bouncers speak with Dave Marquez.  Bruiser says there’s only one loyalty in wrestling, and that’s money.  Bruiser vows to win the NWA World Tag Team Title

NWA World Tag Team Title: Eli Drake and James Storm (champions) vs The Bouncers (Brawler Milonas & The Beer City Bruiser)

Eddie Kingston accompanies the champions to ringside.  Before we begin I should note, in case the situation arises later, that Beer City Bruiser cannot, in fact, bite, as he has no teeth.  Drake and Milonas start off.  Drake grabs a headlock but gets shoved off and shouldertackled to the ground.  Biel by the Brawler. Eli to his feet and hits a series of punches and forearms.  Drake to the apron he tries a springbeard shoulder tackle but can’t knock Milonas down.  Bruiser tags in.  Punches in the corner , Drake fights back and tags in Storm. Drop toe hold by drake, followed by a kneedrop and legdrop by Storm.  Samoan drop by Bruiser, Milonas tags in.  Storm with chops and he tries to slam Milonas to no avail.  Bruiser tag in and goes to bite Storm, but we already know how that’ll work out.

Bruiser misses a charge but Storm gets clotheslined by Milonas.  Milonas tags in and repeatedly rams his posterior into Storm. Bruiser tags in and gets a 1 count.  Bruiser misses a charge but it’s Drake who nails him with a clothesline while Milonas hits one on Storm.  Enziguiri by Storm and Drake tags in.  Flying clothesline on Bruiser.  Dropkick on both Bouncers, they go to the floor.  Assisted tope by Storm.  Rollup for 2 by Drake.  The champions go for the Hart Attack by Milonas trips up Storm.  Milomas tags in and they hit a double standing splash.  Milonas gets a 2 count on Storm.  From a superplex position, Storms gets behind Milonas and hits a powerbomb while Drake knocks the Bruiser from the top rope.  The champs with a double body slam on Milonas.  A superkick by Storm on Bruiser followed up by an elbow drop by Drake and Drake gets the pin.
