The Calabasas helicopter crash that robbed us of Kobe also took his thirteen-year-old daughter Gigi and seven other passengers on board, all of whom shone a light in the world in their own way.

Most of the world did not know Kobe Bryant personally, but the legend got to millions of hearts in ways that only uncommon men among uncommon men do, you can even find him in some games about basketball, even on the website with Free Slots for Fun. For some, they can hold on dear to personal emblematic scenes, gestures and objects that serve as a connection to the emotional landmine that exploded less than a month ago and has yet to calm down.

Laker Legend

Kobe Bryant was branded as the ideal heir to legendary basketballer Michael Jordan once he ventured into the sport in 1996. To date, he is used as a description of the perfect picture of a pitch assassin that would put any defender to shame with his scoring work of art that has produced some of the most notable dunks in history. Watching him play, one could tell that his mind stood at an elevated level, just like his body, which saw him finish as one of the front runners in not only sports but also business, fashion, and many other industries. In this solemn time, as we mourn Kobe, let’s look back at the moments that shaped this man into an essential conduit of not only the game of basketball but the world itself:

  • The game-changing draft

Kobe’s journey in basketball began in high school when he helped his team win the state championships for the first time after 53 years. The basketball superstar ended his high school basketball days with numerous accolades to his name and descriptions that revolved around the lines of “a player that dominates and has a work ethic second to none”. After high school, Kobe chose to dive straight into the NBA and became one of only six players to have ever done so. To many parents, who usually spent their time playing at https://slotmine.com the prospect of skipping college and focusing on sports would be a nightmare. However, most people that have interacted with Kobe are quick to praise his ability to thrive in any field he chooses, even with no college involved.

Even before leaving high school, Kobe easily matched over professional NBA players he worked out in LA. His ruthlessness on the pitch put him on the basketball association’s sites, and he was signed when he was seventeen with a rookie contract of 3.5 million dollars. Kobe debut in the Sumer Pro League where the star scored 25 points and kept defenders on their toes as they struggled to keep him away from the hoop. Such prowess impressed his coaches who proceeded to give him more playtime, and he was quickly starting to gain the attention of fans. By 1998, Bryant had earned his place as a premier guard in the league, which was topped by a renewed contract valued at 70 million dollars.

  • The ups

Even though Kobe was a standout player, he was not truly thriving at his fullest potential as his team continued to take loss after loss in previous seasons. The player’s fortunes began to roll in when Phil Jackson became the Lakers coach in 1999. To allow Kobe to shine, alongside the rising star Shaq O’Neil, Jackson placed the two young players as shooting guards. With a triangle offence system in place, the Lakers went on to sweep the NBA championships in 2000, 2001, and 2002. At the young age of 23, Kobe became the youngest NBA player ever to lead his team to three consecutive championships, which further cemented that he was nothing short of a beast on the court.

  • The downs

The seasons between 2004 and 2007 were not the prettiest for Kobe Bryant, even after an unbeaten three-year run. The disagreements between the player and his teammate O’Neil were becoming noticeable, which is rumoured to be the reason why Shaq was traded to Miami Heat for three new players. The same year, Kobe turned down an offer from the Los Angeles Clippers and stayed with the Lakers, even signing a new seven-year contract.

The season kicked off to a bad start when Kobe was arrested and charged with sexual assault charges that saw him miss a couple of games. He also had to juggle practice and court dates, which caused a plateau in his court performance. When the 2004 season began, Kobe was under so much scrutiny and criticism as he tried to salvage an izzat that had taken a bad hit. In 2006, despite still swimming in slightly tainted waters, Kobe scored 81 points, which the highest recorded number in his career. In a bid to rebrand himself, the basketball star began the 2006-07 season with the number 24 to replace the previous 8.

  • Back at the top

Kobe Bryant appeared to be on an uphill climb since 2008 along with his team, even with a few losses here and there. In 2009 and 2010, the player went on to claim the championships once more, which would bring his career total to five. He went on to play until 2016 when he retired from the court. However, he was still very active in the sport with endorsements worth millions on the business front of the game. He has had partnerships with big names like Adidas and Nike, helping push them into the league of household brands for both budget-friendly and luxury shoppers.

The Farewell

Kobe Bryant is defined as a basketball player like no other that went to such great heights to break down the sport to a scholar. His philosophy dubbed “The Mamba Mentality” made him a ruthless player that was not afraid of kicking out the cuddly with those that underperformed around him. His enthusiasm for the sport drove the Mamba into a force of its own, and now the world has to slowly come to terms with the fact that it is gone.
