WWE NXT REPORT: FIGHTING FOR HIS FAMILY, THE MAGIC WORD IS 'INTERRUPTION', WILL THEY FIGHT FOREVER?, AND MORE

On Sunday night, NXT held its Takeover show in Portland.  We take a look back at highlights.

We are at Full Sail University and your announcers are Mauro Ranallo, Beth Phoenix, and Nigel McGuinness.

The Undisputed Era makes their way to the ring.

Adam says I told you because obsession will never beat destiny.  I proved it to Tommaso Ciampa.  I showed him the hard way in Portland and anyone who steps in the ring with me they will find out.  Ciampa got the answer to his question and it is undisputed.  They are the measuring stick of this brand and they will continue to set examples.  Roddy will end the charade of Velveteen Dream tonight.

Before Strong can talk, Vevleteen Dream's music plays.

He says that Roddy has the chance to prove something tonight.  Leave the boys at home so you can prove you are just a man.  

Strong says that Dream will wish he never came back.

We see what Johnny Gargano did to potential keep Tommaso Ciampa from getting Goldie back.

Match Number One:  Lio Rush versus Jordan Devlin for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship

They lock up and Devlin backs Rush into the corner and Rush pushes Devlin on the break.  Rush with a side head lock.  Rush goes for a round kick but Devlin avoids it and goes to the floor.  Devlin returns to the ring and they have a test of strength but Devlin with a kick and punch.  Devlin with an Irish whip and Rush floats over and avoids Devlin as he comes off the ropes.  Rush with a kick and thrust kick followed by a Pele kick for a near fall.  Rush kicks Devlin in the back and Rush punches Devlin.  Rush kicks Devlin and Devlin pushes Rush away.  Rush with a forearm and suplex for a near fall.

Rush sends Devlin into the turnbuckles and kicks Jordan.  Rush with a snap mare and kick for a near fall.  Rush with a front face lock and Devlin with punches.  Rush with a leg lariat.  Rush with a reverse chin lock and body scissors.  Devlin with an arm drag and Devlin goes to the floor when Rush leap frogs him.  Rush knocks Devlin off the apron and Devlin with a uranage and Arabian press for a near fall.  Devlin with a jumping knee but Devlin holds his ribs.  Devlin with a kick to the head.  Devlin with a seated splash to the back followed by a cross face.  Devlin with a chop and Rush with a punch.  Rush with a forearm and uranage followed by a standing moonsault but Rush gets his knees up.  Rush with a forearm.

Devlin with a half and half suplex for a near fall.  Devlin with a knee to the midsection for a near fall.  Devlin stomps on the midsection.  Devlin with a butterfly suplex for a near fall.  Devlin with a camel clutch on Rush.  Devlin chokes Rush in the ropes.  Devlin with a chop in the corner followed by a European uppercut.  Devlin with kicks to Rush as he shows his challenger no respect.  Rush with forearms and Devlin with a kick to the head.  Rush escapes Devil Inside and Rush goes for Come Up but Devlin catches Rush and hits a back breaker.  Rush with a forearm and chop.  Rush with another chop and he avoids a chop from Devlin to connect for another chop.  Devlin with a jaw breaker. 

We go to commercial.

We are back and both men go for cross body presses at the same time and both men go down.  Rush kicks Devlin over the top rope to the floor and Rush with a suicide dive.  Rush with a cross body for a near fall.  Devlin pushes Rush away and Devlin is sent to the apron and Devlin with a slingshot cutter and Rush rolls to the floor after the impact.  Devlin with a running kick on the apron.  Devlin misses a moonsault off the ring post and Rush hits a corkscrew moonsault onto Devlin.

Rush goes up top and he leaps over Devlin and hits a spinning heel kick but Devlin wit a kick of his own.  Rush with a rollup for a near fall.  Rush with a thrust kick.  Devlin wtih a Spanish Fly and Rush with a Koji Clutch.  Devlin gets to the ropes to force Rush to release the hold.  Rush goes up top again and Devlin hits the ropes and it crotches Rush.  Devlin sets for a superplex but Rush blocks it.  Rush sets for a Super Poison Rana followed by the Come Up and Devlin gets his foot on the rope to stop the count.  Rush goes up top and misses Final Hour.  Devlin with a head butt and then he hits Devil Inside for the three count.

Winner:  Jordan Devlin (retains Championship)

We go to the back where Jon Quasto is with Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez.  Raquel says that Tegan has had every opportunity and pushed Dakota aside.  Raquel says she saw that at the PC when people looked past her.  Dakota was looked over at War Games.  Dakota says that Raquel proved that she had Dakota's back more than anyone else so she has Raquel's back.  Dakota says they are untouchable.

William Regal shows up and says that Dakota and Raquel might be untouchable now but in two weeks, there will be no interference when Dakota and Tegan meet again, inside a steel cage.

We see Tommaso Ciampa walking outside Full Sail.

We go to commercial.

We go to comments from Rhea Ripley after Takeover.  Rhea says Charlotte attacked her from behind but she got what she wanted.  Queens can get nightmares.

Match Number Two:  Austin Theory versus 

Tommaso Ciampa makes his way to the ring as we await Theory's opponent.  Tommaso says Takeover Portland . . . Austin stands next to Ciampa and Ciampa tells him not tonight.  Austin backs up and Ciampa continues.

A part of me feels like maybe I should have seen this coming.  I was so focused on Goldie and getting my life back that I stopped paying attention to my surroundings.  The odd timing of a tag team reunion.  Ciampa says he stopped listening to his instinctual voice.  If there is one thing synonymous with Tommaso Ciampa and the NXT Championship, it is Johnny Gargano.  Ciampa is not asking Why Johnny Why.  Ciampa says he knows why and Johnny knows why.

Theory approaches Ciampa again and Ciampa punches Theory with the mic. 

If one thing is very clear, in order to get his life back, there can be no Johnny Gargano in NXT.

Ciampa leaves the ring and Theory goes to the floor and Ciampa kicks Theory.  Ciampa with a running knee to the head.  Ciampa sends Theory into the guardrials many times.  

We see Chelsea Green at a photo shoot and Robert Stone stops by to give the photographer some suggestions.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Finn Balor says all of the questions, all of the debate, and all of the hype all fall short when they come to Finn.  NXT is his chessboard and he proved it again in Portland.  Finn says next week, watch his next move.

Match Number Two:  Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde versus Zack Gibson and James Drake

Gibson and Wilde start off and Gibson with a wrist lock and Wilde with a drop kick.  They lock up and Gibson with a waist lock and Wilde with a standing switch.  Drake absorbs the Irish whip impact and Gibson with a shoulder tackle.  Drake tags in and Drake with a shoulder tackle.  Wilde with a head scissors take down.  Wilde with a drop toe hold and a rollup for a near fall.  Drake with a side head lock.  Gibson tags in and Gibson with a clothesline and forearm to Wilde.  Gibson with kicks and a forearm.  Drake tags in and he connects with a forearm.  Drake with a back breaker and Wilde goes to the floor.  Gibson tags in and they hit a slingshot forearm and back breaker on Wilde on the floor.

Gibson with a slam and Drake tags in.  Gibson drops Drake onto Wilde for a near fall.  Wilde with punches and forearms to get out of the corner.  Drake with an Irish whip and Wilde with a moonsault out of the corner.  Gibson and Mendoza tag in and Mendoza with punches and chops.  Mendoza with clotheslines to Drake and Gibson.  Mendoza with a drop kick to Gibson.  Mendoza kicks Drake over the top rope and then Mendoza with a kick to Gibson and Mendoza with an enzuigiri and springboard drop kick.  

Gibson with a double thrust to the throat and a delayed back drop suplex.  Drake tags in and drop kicks Wilde off the apron using Mendoza as a springboard.  Gibson tags in and Mendoza goes for a head scissors take down but Gibson and Drake hit Ticket to Mayhem for the three count.

Winners:  James Drake and Zack Gibson

After the match, Gibson has the mic.  He says the land of the free and the home of the brave.  He corrects it by saying it is the land of the neck beard and home of the ignorant.  They will be recognized as the number one tag team.
