WHO WILL WIN THIS YEAR'S MEN'S ROYAL RUMBLE?

By Kendall Jenkins on 2020-01-23 08:51:00

This Sunday, the road to WrestleMania begins in earnest when WWE presents the 2020 Royal Rumble event.  The company will present the epic battle of attrition and we will see who will outlast the other 29 men and win this year’s match.

As is always the case, the winner of the match goes on to wrestle the champion of his choosing at WrestleMania.  Let’s take a look at the top ten picks to come out on top and punch their ticket to WrestleMania.  The odds as to who will win the bout change constantly so if you want to stay up to date, one of the best ways is the Sports Interaction app. This app not only includes most of the Sports news, they also give you odds of who's  probably going to win the match. In addition, you can place a bet on your favorites. According to BettingTop10's review of Sports Interaction, It is one of the most reliable and trust-worthy bookmakers around.

Brock Lesnar. The former UFC champion and current WWE champion has announced that he will be the first entrant into the match.  Were he to win, he could challenge whichever champion he chooses to a Title match at WrestleMania.  Given that WWE would lose a Universal Title bout on their biggest show of the year, Lesnar will probably not get the win here.  Instead, his WrestleMania challenger may be set up in the match.

Drew McIntyre. The challenger that may be set up for Lesnar may very well be the popular Scot.  McIntyre has been on fire lately and he has resonated with the crowds.  He could win the match outright, or could be involved in a scenario where he eliminates Lesnar and gets a match with him at WrestleMania due to that.

Roman Reigns. The Smackdown stalwart is a popular choice to win the event.  If WWE decides to use the Rumble to set up Lesnar’s opponent for the April mega-event, Reigns could easily be the choice to win here and face the WWE Champion.

CM Punk.  Currently Punk is working with WWE’s Backstage show, where his deal is actually with FOX.  Could WWE be planning to bring him back to the ring as surprise at The Rumble?  It would create a huge buzz if they chose to do so.

Edge. Another name that has been bandied about as a big surprise has been Edge.  He left the business after an injury and it was believed he could never return to the ring.  That may have changed, though those close to him have been tight lipped about a potential return.  Given WWE’s need for big names when they run huge shows like WrestleMania or in Saudi Arabia, Edge would be someone they would love to get back under contract if he were able to withstand the rigors of the ring again.

Keith Lee. The NXT strongman is perfectly suited for the rigors of a Royal Rumble match.  He has been on an incredible roll the last few months and would be a great choice to win the bout.  And if he did, he could choose NXT Champion Adam Cole as his opponent, putting the WWE’s number three brand in a prominent position on the biggest show of the year.

Randy Orton.  Old reliable, Orton is always in the discussion to be placed in a top tier match for WWE.  His being on the Raw brand would seem to work against him winning however given Lesnar’s involvement in the Rumble Match.

Kevin Owens/Samoa Joe.  These two have been a pairing of late and that is why they are listed together here.  It would seem that a date with the Authors Of Pain is in their future, as the men have a lot of unfinished business, but either would be a worthy winner of the Rumble.

Braun Strowman. How do you ever bet against a man that big?  It’s hard, but what we usually see happen is that wrestlers gang up to eliminate the biggest threat.  That will probably be what happens to Strowman on Sunday.

Seth Rollins.  Last year’s winner is always a trendy choice given his status at the top of the card.  However, since he just won the Tag Team Titles with Buddy Murphy, it would seem that defending those championships is what is ahead for him at WrestleMania.

Those are the top picks to win the match.  We will know by late Sunday night who will get the job done and head to the main event of WWE’s biggest show of the year.
