COULD WWE CELEBRATE A BIG ANNIVERSARY AT MANIA 36?, IS 205 LIVE FORGOTTEN FOR GOOD?, COULD LIGER RETURN IN ANOTHER PERSONA, BARON'S CORBIN, KY & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2020-01-11 10:00:00

Wrestlemania 36 will be the 20 years anniversary of the first TLC match, so do you think they'll celebrate The Dudleys, The Hardys and Edge & Christian?

Well, it would be the 20th anniversary of their Tables & Ladders match at Wrestlemania 2000.  WWE could easily celebrate the match if they wanted - I would suggest they could even put the match itself in the WWE Hall of Fame.  I think even if Matt Hardy left the company, he'd be willing to appear at Wrestlemania while ROH has shown in the past they'd be willing to let Bubba/Bully Ray appear at big WWE events, like the Raw 25th Anniversary.

Why in the world would WWE do something as lame as a campaign to rename Corbin, Kentucky after Baron Corbin?

To get people talking locally about their live event this Sunday in that market, which based on the fact you are asking me this question, worked.  It's about marketing the company in a different, unique way.

Jushin Liger retired, but Kishi Liger did not, so could we see him return?

I don't believe we'll be seeing that happen.

It seems like 205 Live is the forgotten brand.  Do you think that will change anytime soon?

Unfortunately, I don't believe it will.  I am really down on the fact that even though NXT creative has taken over the show, it's pretty much ignored and absolutely an after thought.  There are way too many talented wrestlers on that show and way too many good matches that are unfortunately not getting the buzz they deserve, and that falls on WWE's shoulders, because the actual work is strong every week.

Is Matt Hardy really leaving or is this another worked/shoot storyline?

It comes down to this.  If he comes to terms with WWE on how they will use him going forward, it will become a worked shoot.  If not, it will be his bridge to the world beyond WWE, Broken and otherwise.
