I hope to have a story up on him later tonight. All I can say now is he was a great guy and the scene was better for him being a part of it. pic.twitter.com/sDid4cWXlo
Reports out of California are that Jon Ian, a longtime ring announcer for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and other promotions, who wore a number of hats in that scene, passed away over the weekend.
Ian first broke into the business with under the EWF (run at the time by Jesse Hernandez) banner and had been a staple of the scene for many years. Beyond PWG, Ian worked as a promoter and commissioner for Mach-1 Wrestling and was involved in all sorts of different facets of numerous Cali independent promotions. He had worked with Dave Marquez's CWH as a Producer as well.
