We're all fully aware of WWE's (Vince's) insistence on certain words and catchphrases being pushed down our throats by the announce team, and we know it will never change. That being said, what's wrong with the word "hospital?" Has it ever been explained why wrestlers are always taken to a "local medical facility?"
WWE likes their buzz words and those are a few of them. I have never asked anyone, but my guess is that Vince likes the way that sounds so they have run with it.
On a similar note, is it just me, or was there a distinct lack of "the one time a year Raw and Smackdown go head to head in in-ring competition" leading up to Survivor Series this year? Did the NXT angle save us from that? :)
Thank God, yes it did. I don’t know what will happen next year, but for 2019, we were saved. I hate the brand supremacy storyline as much as you do.
In regards to Jimmy Uso found not guilty - Really??? All over the road and slurred speech (the video is clear) - Throws out the "I feel uncomfortable" card and wants an attorney present for a field sobriety test (No reason to feel uncomfortable..he was intoxicated). I guess it pays to be a celebrity and have money. Between media coverage, Alicia Fox, Jimmy Uso, Jeff Hardy, Total Bella's, and Total Diva's, it seems that WWE talent, or at least most of them, consumes alcohol 24/7 - Especially with the TV series, vast amounts of alcohol consumption is the way WWE wants to portray their talent, especially the women. They are portrayed as gossip queens that can't get along and if they are awake....they are drinking. I get that the show is scripted, but the way the women are portrayed is terrible. What people don't understand is, alcohol is a drug and WWE talent is displaying what seems to be out of control legal drug use. Maybe WWE should consider a WWE Total Rehab series. When is WWE going to step in? Am I the only one seeing this?
You aren't the only one seeing it but as low as Total Divas' ratings have dropped this season, you are not far off. Total Divas is a reality TV show. There is an ample amount of work being done in that reality. As for Use getting off, that is just how our legal system works. And yes, it definitely pays to have the money for a good lawyer.
How's your interest level on this upcoming Wrestle Kingdom? Do you think the two-night card will be a permanent thing?
It’s the same that it always is for me. I always like NJ when I have time to watch it, but I just don’t have the time to devote to it with so many other promotions to follow. I am sure it will be filled with great wrestling and Kota Ibushi will do something to himself that will make me cringe. As for it being a two night deal, if this year is a success I don’t see why they wouldn’t do it again in 2021.
Pro Wrestling NOAH used to be my favorite wrestling promotion, especially in the mid-2000s because of so many heavy-hitters we see today having grinding their first teeth there like KENTA and Bryan Danielson alongside legends like Misawa, Kobashi, and Akiyama. It seems like ever since Misawa's death and Kobashi's retirement, it has really gone downhill and became a small shell of its former self. Do you think NOAH will ever recover or become what it once was or will it basically be a glorified indy with bright colors?
We shall see. They have a new owner so maybe they can turn things around but without the heart and soul that Misawa and Kobashi brought to the company, they have a tough road to hoe. Time will tell.
