SHANE TAYLOR VS. DANHAUSEN AND MORE: RING OF HONOR TV REPORT

We begin with hightlights of the PCO vs Marty Scurll match where PCO became number-one contender to the ROH World Title

Ian Riccaboni is your host for tonight’s show. 

We’re in full Final Battle mode as we begin with highlights of Vincent’s betrayal of Matt Taven and The Kingdom, the culmination of which was Vincent slicing Taven open with his axe. 

Bully Ray is leveling threats on Mark Haskins, who he’ll be facing at Final Battle.  Bully also warns Haskins’ wife Vickie against getting near him Friday.  Bully Ray tells Haskins that he’s the last voice he’ll hear.

In the ring, Haskins is making clear the difference between Mark Haskins the wrestler and Mark Haskins the man.  Haskins calls out Bully Ray.  There’s a table in the ring.  Bully takes his time walking out.  Haskins tells him to get in the ring.  Haskins is showing fire here.  Flip Gordon runs in from behind and lays out Haskins with a Kendo stick.  Bully gives Flip some money and power bombs Haskins through a table.  Bully tells Haskins his wife is trash and that his children are the offspring of trash.  Bully accepts the match for Final Battle. 

Dalton Castle and Joe Hendry are talking backstage about their tag team. 

Bateman vs. PJ Black

Code of Honor adhered to.  Test of strength and the two reverse hammerlocks.  Snap mare and rollup by Black for 2.  Bateman with a wristlock takedown into a hammerlock.  Forearm by Bateman, Black slumps to the ropes.  Black to his feet, the two exchange chops.  Black with a headscissors takedown, Bateman to the outside and Black with a dive over the top that connects.  Black with elbows off the top rope.  Bateman catches him on the third try and drops him with a facebuster.  Forearm by Bateman.  Chops by Bateman.  Black with a punch and chops to fight back, Bateman with a throat punch followed by a stomp to the face.  PJ averts a backdrop and connects with a spinning kick.  Black with a backslide for 2.  Springboard moonsault by Black for 2.  Uppercuts and a forearm by Bateman for 2.  Black reverses a tombstone into a rollup for 2.  Back elbow by Bateman followed by a snowplow for 2.  Series of kicks by Black, he only gets a 2 count.  Black with a top rope hurancanrana and a moonsault for 2.  Black with a half nelson slam for 2.  Black to the top, Bateman rolls away.  Forearm to the back and Spinning Tombstone for the pin.

WINNER: Bateman

Silas Young and Josh Woods finalize their contract with Joe Koff.  Woods wants perks that allow him to hang out more with Silas.  Koff declines.

ROH World Television Title Match: Shane Taylor (Champion) vs. Danhausen

Taylor fires up the crowd putting over the greatness of Ohio.  Taylor is accompanied by Shane Taylor Promotions and reminds us he’s now the 9th longest reigning TV Champion ever.  Danhausen gets an insert promo basically getting over that he’s odd.   Taylor offers Danhausen a change to leave, which is declined.  Danhausen grabs a waistlock and Taylor flips him over.  Danhausen with a chop and an attempted chokeslam.  It does not work.  Taylor charges and Danhausen ducks, sending Taylor to the floor. Danhausen with kicks on the apron.  He tries a rana but Taylor powerbombs him on the apron.  Dak Draper comes out to observe, as he’s in line for a title shot.  Taylor with forearms to the jaw.  Biel toss by the champion.  Knockout punch by Taylor and Todd Sinclair gives a count.  Taylor misses a charge DDT by Danhausen for 2.  Danhausen tries to feed Taylor extracted human teeth.  Follows up with a kneestrike for 2.  Danhausen goes for a DDT but Taylor shoves him off.  Package piledriver by Taylor and connects with the Greetings from 216 for the pin.

WINNER: Shane Taylor (retains ROH TV Title)

In the back, Taylor says he’s focused on Final Battle, whoever his opponent may be.  We know now that it will be Dragon Lee challenging him.
