New York City independent wrestler Matt Travis, a regular with the House of Glory and GCW promotions, passed away earlier today after a traffic accident, I am extremely sad to report.

The Amazing Red, who trained Travis, tweeted the following:
I just can't.

I don't understand life sometimes.
I'm gonna try and pull it together for you today.
I just want to see you! Talk to you!
I'm sorry. I love you Matty pic.twitter.com/LoZhbitbjX
The early word making the rounds is that Travis' bike was struck by a truck.
I will have more on this as soon as I can, but I can attest that Travis was a great young talent who was equally a great person and was very much loved and respected by everyone who worked with him. He had a great feud with Ken Broadway in the promotion, a feud that legitimized each of them in front of the NYC audience over the last several years. I cannot overstate how much this turn of events has broken the hearts of everyone in the New York City independent wrestling scene.
AEW stars Santana and Ortiz dedicated their match tonight to Travis' memory:
Love you bro.

His energy & passion made it to where you couldn't help but root for the guy even when you wanted to boo him for being a jerk.
We are fortunate to have spent a small part of the journey with him.
We will miss you Matt. Love you.

I had the pleasure to know Matt Travis. The man was one of the kind. That trip to Jersey, talking about serial killers, Kawada and Stan Hansen stories. I’ll miss those moments, I’m sorry I never go to meet up with you after the last HOG show. You killed it that night. (1/2)

Heartbroken hearing the news about @MATT___TRAVIS. He was a real dude and put his heart & soul in everything he did. We always bounced ideas off eachother and he always motivated us to be more raw and intense in the ring. Taken far too soon. Rest In Peace Kapo, we love you bro ??
