MATT TAVEN-ROH UPDATE

By Mike Johnson on 2019-09-29 00:29:00

During tonight's Ring of Honor TV taping in Las Vegas, former ROH Champion Matt Taven announced he would be remaining with the company.  His current deal with the company was set to expire this Tuesday.

PWInsider.com first reported Taven had come to terms with the company this past Wednesday in the Elite section.

Taven, 34 years old, has been with the promotion full-time since 2010 and has held the promotion's World title, TV, Tag Team and Six Man Tag Team Championship over the course of his run.  He's been one of the central figures in the promotion over the last year, including a great 60-minute match with Jay Lethal and title defenses against Alex Shelley, PCO, Jeff Cobb and more.  He lost the ROH World title on Friday evening to RUSH and tonight's promo teased a babyface turn for Taven, although we'll see if that's actually the case.
