Director James Gunn officially unveiled the cast for his Suicide Squad film, including John Cena:

Cena is expected to play DC Comics character Peacemaker in the film. It will be the first ever live action incarnation of the character, a soldier and super-hero who loves peace so much he is willing to kill for it. The character was originally created by Charlton Comics but acquired by DC in the mid-80s.
This will be the second Suicide Squad film, based on the DC Comic where the United States government forces incarcerated super-villains to go on suicide missions.
Suicide Squad is written and will be directed by James Gunn and will star Margot Robbie and Idris Elba. Robbie will reprise her role as Harley Quinn from the firdt Suicide Squad film, which was released in summer 2016. Jai Courtney will be returning to reprise his role as Captain Boomerang. Elba's role has not been revealed.
The film is slated for a August 6, 2021 release.
Cena tested for the title role of Shazam! previously for DC. He will be seen in the forthcoming Fast & Furious 9.
