All Elite Wrestling announced tonight that their third PPV special, Full Gear, will take place on Saturday 11/9 at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland, the promotion’s first ever event in Charm City.
Originally known as the Baltimore Arena, the 14,000 seat venue has been a regular stop for professional wrestling companies for decades for WWE, WCW and Jim Crockett Promotions. It's a great venue with a ton of history, including Superstar Billy Graham's WWWF title victory, a number of Great American Bash PPVs, including the legendary 1989 PPV headlined by Terry Funk vs. Ric Flair, and Owen Hart winning the King of the Ring tournament in 1994.
Baltimore was a regular stop for The NWA, made famous by Four Horsemen promos talking about suites in the Baltimore Marriot. After Turner Broadcasting purchased JCP and turned it into World Championship Wrestling, the arena hosted numerous PPVs and TV tapings over the years.
The venue has hosted WWE live events, PPVs and TV tapings for decades, most recently the 2017 WWE Extreme Rules PPV.
WWE will next run the venue on Monday 9/2 for a Raw taping.
