DREAM MATCH SET FOR SUMMERSLAM

Charlotte Flair vs. WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus, 43 years old, is now official for the 8/11 Summerslam PPV, marking Stratus' first singles match since 2011, when she defeated Vickie Guerrero on an episode of Monday Night Raw.

Stratus officially accepted a challenge from Flair on tonight's episode of Smackdown.  As we noted last week, the match had been expected. 

Stratus, who officially retired in September 2006 at the WWE Unforgiven PPV, has made ten in-ring appearances since her retirement, but her match against Flair would be her first true, competitive singles match.  She was slated for a singles bout against Alexa Bliss at the first Evolution PPV last year in Long Island, NY but that was changed to a tag match in part due to issues with Bliss suffering a concussion leading into the match.
