STEPHANIE IN FRANCE, USA NETWORK FOUNDER ON XFL, LARS SULLIVAN AND MORE WWE NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2019-06-17 14:40:00

Stephanie McMahon is at the FIFA World Women’s Cup in France to promote Smackdown Live coming to FOX this fall.

The Los Angeles Times featured a piece on USA Network founder Joe Cohen, his importance to the success of WWE and more, including insight into the XFL at this link.  On the XFL, Cohen commented ““There’s nobody better than Vince – and Vince is the indispensable part of the XFL – in putting together live television and programming,” says Cohen. “He’s instinctive and hires superb people. He challenges them. Even with XFL, one of the greatest resources will be his staff at WWE.  What’s most interesting this time is while Vince is used to controlling the entire program, just as he does completely with the WWE, there’s a bit of a cultural shift to see him giving the production to the rights holder.”

Meanwhile, ESPN had a great piece on the quick demise of the XFL's potential competition, the AAF, at this link.  Thanks to Gurjeet Dosanjh.

Lars Sullivan disappeared from WWE TV due to a knee issue.

During an appearance on the Two Man Power Trip podcast, Arn Anderson noted he is still under a WWE severance package and legally still with the company, so he is not speaking to anyone about a potential role elsewhere, but down the road, he will be open and interested, obviously.

WWE’s Miz DVD release is slated to hit stores on 7/9.

WWE released videos over the weekend showing R-Truth getting back in the crate that was heading to Los Angeles, so when Raw takes place tonight, that’s the explanation as to why he’s still in it a week later.
