WWE HIRING DANA WARRIOR FOR CREATIVE, DEAN AMBROSE, WHY NXT SHOULDN'T BE CONCERNED ABOUT THE LATEST CALL UPS AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2019-03-08 10:00:00

I have to say this entire Dana Warrior hiring is ridiculous.  Why the hell is this woman even working near the creative team?

Warrior noted on her blog that she’s been a writer her entire life.  I can’t discredit her and say that her hiring is ridiculous until we know what she can bring to the table.  Maybe she is a hell of a writer.  I don't know.  Remember she’s been “part of the WWE family” for several years from the inside and obviously was close to Warrior and probably learned something about characters and pro wrestling from him, so I would think she has SOME understanding of pro wrestling as WWE produces it.

I look at her hiring similar to Vickie Guerrero.  When Vickie was hired, I remember receiving a lot of email about how dumb it was or what a “pity” hiring it was, but then Guerrero became one of the best heels of the last decade and one of the best female characters in WWE history.  There would be ZERO argument today as to whether Guerrero was a WWE Hall of Famer, but in 2006, people assumed the worst.  That doesn’t mean we should assume Warrior will be amazing in the creative role, but it DOES mean we have to see what is brought to the table before we should dismiss the hiring as “ridiculous" or even judge her in the role.  You have to be fair.

With Gargano, Ciampa, Black, and Ricochet eventually being at the main roster full time. This leaves empty hole and opens many doors for those in the NXT roster and the Performance Center. If it was up to you, who would put those holes in to bring NXT further into the future?

If you have Undisputed Era, Matt Riddle, Rhea Ripley, Velveteen Dream, Keith Lee, The Street Profits, Kairi Sane, Shayna Baszler, Bianca Belair, War Raiders, Pete Dunne, Mustache Mountain, Jordan Devlin, Travis Banks, Jinny, Punishment Martinez, Danny Burch, Aliyah, Deonna Purrazzo, Toni Storm and a lot more under your umbrella, I’d argue that you can fill the holes in 10 seconds.  I think it will be very easy for NXT to be ready to move on, especially since all signs thus far are that the new main roster talents aren’t being yanked without properly exiting.

With Dean Ambrose set to depart, where does that leave Renee Young?

It doesn’t change her status with the company.

There’s a report going around that Roman Reigns told someone he would “take care of the situation” with Dean Ambrose at a signing.  Has he?

This is the first I’ve heard of that story and I can’t take such a report seriously.  Unless there’s video footage of Roman saying it or someone credible citing that it was said to them, on record, I can’t put any credence into the story.  Could it be he said it to a fan at a signing?  Sure, it’s possible, but given there’s zero way to actually source the story, I wouldn’t take it at face value and I wouldn’t run such a story here on PWInsider.com.

With all the talk about creative changes, who’s in charge?

The same person as always: Vince McMahon.

Which cast member of "You're the Worst" would make the best pro wrestling character?

Desmin Borges already played a pro wrestler in The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, so I'd go with him.

If you mean which character, Lindsay, easily!
