UFC STARS TALK ABOUT WORKING FOR WWE, HIDDEN GEMS HAVE A HOLIDAY FEEL AND MORE

EVOLVE are holding a twitter poll to choose Ricochet's opponent for EVOLVE 123 in Melrose, MA on 3/15

During a UFC Media lunch in Phoenix yesterday, Cain Velasquez talked about his week long training at the WWE Performance Center last year and whether he would pursue it more further:

Burnim/Murray Productions tweeted that they will be doing a casting call looking for the next WWE Superstar at Barney's Beanery in Burbank, CA on 2/16 from 10 am - 3 pm.

In an interview with MMA Fighting, MMA Star Frank Mir explained why he was making his pro wrestling debut at Josh Barnett's Bloodsport, promoted by Game Changer Wrestling, on 4/4 in Jersey City, NJ

Initially, he was approached to do just an appearance and sign autographs at the event. But when he was asked if he would like to participate as a wrestler, he accepted as he's never one to turn down a challenge.

"I like to try out new things and it’s still in the genre of martial arts. I see it as no different than making a movie. It’s stunt choreography. So, I was interested to get my feet wet and try it out. I figured instead of sitting there and wondering what I would do, I figured I’d jump right in with the first opportunity I’d get."

He also believes wrestling will be his stepping stone into getting into other forms of entertainment.

"In the future, I’d like to break more into acting and stuff. I think that pro wrestling is a great springboard, really. You see a lot of guys coming from that world. In a lot of ways, it’s like live theater. Guys going out there and performing and having to act on the fly and be their own stuntmen at the same time. So, I’ve always had a great admiration and respect for the guys that do it."

He mentioned he plans to do wrestling training with Tom Lawlor and he was not sure if the Bloodsport event would be a one-off or he would continue doing more wrestling shows.

"Honestly, waiting to see how it goes. I don’t want to make any judgment, like how am I gonna follow this? What if I don’t like it? I don’t know. I’ve never really been a part of it on that side of it. That’s why I think jumping off at this level of a show and testing the waters before i start."

He also noted he was a fan as a kid, but left when Hulk Hogan turned heel in 1996. As well, his dream wrestling match would be with Brock Lesnar who he has a 1-1 record with in MMA.
