FOX Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier told media assembled today for FOX's presentation at the network's Television Critics Association 2019 gathering that Smackdown would be replacing FOX comedies on Fridays this fall, with those shows being moved to other nights on the Network.
A reference was made by Collier to Smackdown being on Fridays "short term", which certainly leaves the window of opportunity for the series to be moved to another night down the line.
It was also stated that "other" WWE programming would appear on FOX Sports 1, but what that programming could be was not specified.
As far as the FOX Network itself, their current deal is for Smackdown and Smackdown alone, nothing else.
During the presentation, Collier admitted he was a longtime pro wrestling fan, noting he was "....a Rowdy Roddy Piper guy growing up."
