Ready, Set, Go! The 5 Leading Names in the Pegasus World Cup 2019 Contenders

It’s only a week away before the 2019 Pegasus World Cup Invitational series will commence. It will be held at the famous Gulfstream Park. This year's’ edition is going to be different compared to the past seasons of the said series.

There will be two categories which will be discussed. It has a Grade 1 category “The Pegasus World Cup Invitational” and the Grade 2 which works on “The Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational. This is a mega event that horse racing lovers would love to look at.

While everyone who’s joining is preparing all year round for the said event, experts have shown up their bet cards as to who would be the great contenders for the event. Let’s take a look at the five horses whose been leading the poll of slaying the 2019 Pegasus World Cup series.

Audible

After winning the Grade 1 Florida Derby, Audible being one of three last standing horses of last year's edition is first on the top list. Audible finished third in the Kentucky Derby and has been leading the poll of the most competitive entry in the coming match.

Although Audible’s win in the Kentucky Derby forces him to get injured and misses the seven months of joining other racing activities, he returns as an undercard in the Breeders Cup bagging a second place.

This earned his trainer’s confidence if securing an entry in the upcoming Pegasus World Cup. Audible is in his best condition and hoping to topnotch all entries in the race.

Kukuklan

Today’s edition of the Pegasus World Cup will feature a Triple-Crown Winner. Although everyone would not want to see it, the Mexican triple-crown winner Kulkulan will be part of this biggest and grandest horse racing event.

In addition, a lot of racing experts say that Kukulkan may win the said tournament this year, but his trainers are still working very hard. They said that Pegasus is the home of the most prestigious, most experienced, and undefeated horse racers.

Based on the racing history, he remains undefeated in 14 divisions and he’s hard to beat. Kulkulan has joined a lot of prestigious horse racing event may it big or small and won in all his events. Given the said record, Kulkulan will surely earn a winning spot in the tournament.

Yoshida

Yoshida graced and finished the fourth in the last edition of Breeders Cup. He’s the newest entry to the Pegasus World Cup. He’s been described to have a monster debut winning the Grade 1 Woodward Stakes Tournament.

This year, his trainer Bill Mott decided to join the turf division in Pegasus. He said that they’ll start in this division to help him train Yoshida to overcome a bigger race and eventually joining the Pegasus World Cup main event next year.

Last year, Yoshida also won the Old Foster Turf Classic Stakes in Grade 1 Division and won fifth in the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes.

City of Light

Familiar as it may seem, City of Light is the one to beat. He’s the main challenger in the event in which he has been part of the Pegasus World Cup since then together with Accelerate. He had a very colorful 2018 campaign in which he got a resounding win in the Breeders Cup Dirt Mile.

This year, his trainers are aiming to edge Accelerates record of winning streak. The City of Light has been training all year round. Though it his last year of racing, his trainer aims to put a good ending record in the horse racing history.

Aerolithe

Aerolithe a Japanese contender will try his luck in the Pegasus World Cup Invitational Series. This would be his inaugural competition in the United States and hoping to show a good fight in the said tournament.

Thought it his first time in the said event, this horse does not emerge as an underdog in the competition. He had built a great resume way in his homeland. He had won nine racing games over 13 entries gracing over $3 million earnings.

Lastly, Aerolithe’s biggest winning streak was way back in 2017 when he bagged and took home the crown of the prestigious NHK Mile Cup - Group 1 Division. His trainer is looking forward to having an amazing racing debut in the upcoming racing event.

Obviously, this years edition of Pegasus World Cup 2019 contenders is to showcase a more world class and international flavor. They wanted to showcase a broader reach of competitors as they cross overseas by letting other countries to be part of the show.
