I trust your opinions more than most so I wanted to run this by you. I'm 62 and have loved wrestling for over 55 years. I thought I was up for anything after all this time. I think I just found out where my line is.  I started watching MLW because of Tony, and to replace Impact in my life. Am I the only one offended by Lo-ki stabbing Konnan in the transplanted kidney? I mean, I assume this company wants to go more mainstream. If a talent has to do that to get heat, just go to the house. Has there been any talk of this, or is it just me?

I get where you are coming from.  It does come across as harsh, for sure.  Is it out of bounds?  I think it depends on the person judging.  For instance, WWE used Jim Neidhart’s death in an angle.  A lot of people didn’t like that either and you don’t get more mainstream than WWE.  I think it comes down to the individual and what they standards are.

If you could pick 3 current wrestlers (could be from a major company or from an indy) to send back in time & make 1 WWWF Champ, 1 NWA Champ & 1 AWA Champ; who would the 3 be?

Man, that is so hard to say.  Times have changed so much over the years but off of the top of my head I will send Adam Cole back to be the Bockwinkel like AWA Champ.  I’ll send Drew McIntryre back to be the NWA champ, as you need someone versatile to work the different styles in the territories, and I will send Elias back to be the WWWF champ because, well, I like Elias.

How much influence will FOX have on Smackdown once it comes to their network? I really hope they do from the stories out there of how they want the show to be more wrestling based, like a true sporting event.

FOX is bringing WWE in to be WWE, not a sport event.  They know that the hardcore fans turn in for the action but also understand that the “extra” fans are attracted to the characters and storylines.  They realize that if they present it like real sport, it would probably fail so don’t expect them to go in that direction.

Also you think FOX will use their NFL theme music for Smackdown like FOX does on other sporting broadcasts?

My guess?  No.  FOX knows the difference between Sport and Sports Entertainment.  I think they will be sure to not insult their audience by mixing the two.

I have a question regarding wrestlers and copyrighted songs.  Back in the 80's and 90's everybody was using copyrighted songs as ring entrance themes on tv and at house shows.  Nowadays it seems the closest you find to that is when CM Punk was using In Living Color's "cult of personality" My question is how were they able to use these songs for so long without having to pay copyright fees (which i'm sure are huge). Also how did that come to an end?

They did pay copyright fees, which is why they took the music in house in both WCW and WWE, and later ECW.  It was cheaper to create their own themes than to pay rights fees.
