I am seeing a lot of questions about the Shield Reunion and I’m confused why people seem confused by it. The Shield Reunion didn’t happen with Braun Strowman. It happened back when the Miztourage angle happened. Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns never parted ways. They remained close and teamed on several occasions. When Seth turned face, he and Roman Reigns aligned several times, too. Seth then made efforts to make amends with Dean and they eventually reconciled. The Shield feuded with the Miz and his allies and no one had a problem with this Reunion. But Dean got injured and it halted the momentum, but it doesn’t mean the alliance has to be re-explained when Dean came back to help Seth with Dolph Ziggler and Drew Galloway. So, why do people seem confused by why he came back to help. He only left because of injury. He’s back and back with his partner. What more needs to be said?
Nothing! You said it perfectly!
Just a quick question about Carmella. Just when I started appreciating her work, they turned her into a comedy act. Does WWE (I know the Vince factor) really believe that her value is in doing dance break ins? I know they have a women’s agenda, but really she does add value to the division.
I couldn’t agree with you more. Carmella was booked to be a coward when she was champ. In the match where she lost the belt, they let her wrestle and she did really well. Then, they moved her into the current role. I don’t get it either. On the one hand, it is a solid spot on the card and she doesn’t have to bump as much but I too would have liked to have seen her get a chance to show us what she could do in the ring. I hope she gets it at some point.
Cody and the Elite have left ROH. Do you think they are making the right move?
It is impossible for me to answer that with the limited information we have at this time. I don’t know what plans their backers have. I don’t know how committed they are. I don’t know what the financial commitment is to them. But, what I do know is that as a group, and individually, they have made a lot of good business decisions thus far and I am sure they weighed all of the factors before deciding to leave ROH. And, they still have New Japan on the table as well. So I can’t say whether they are making the right move but I am pretty confident that they have carefully considered all of the factors before making it.
And, do you think they will be back?
If they stay aligned with New Japan I could see them working shows, like MSG on WrestleMania weekend. Whether they come back full time? I can’t say. It would depend on what happens between now and then. If their new promotion chooses to go to war with ROH and loses? Well they would definitely have to come back with a reduced bargaining position if they wanted to return, that’s for sure. Time will tell!
Does it bother you when people send questions here that they could look up themselves?
Honestly, it depends on the question. If it’s something easy, like how long does X PPV run or what time does it start? Yeah, I won’t answer that. But if it’s something where we can add more facts than they can find on Google, no that doesn’t bug me at all. It’s the point of this column!
