On November 27th, the Raw finals of the Mixed Match Challenge were set, and one of the two teams in the match would have been a long shot bet had you made it before the tournament started.
A few weeks ago, it appeared that Jinder Mahal and Alicia Fox's time would come to an ungainly end on Tuesday as they were heading towards a showdown with Ember Moon and Braun Strowman. Most people that cross Braun’s path feel those mighty hands of his. But then Strowman suffered an elbow injury, which required surgery, and was forced to exit the Challenge.
WWE announced that Curt Hawkins, he of the long, long losing streak, would be the replacement for Strowman and the fate of his team was probably sealed right then and there. After a valiant effort, and Moon having the upper hand against Fox at the end of the match, Hawkins was the legal one in the ring at the end and took the fall, eliminating the team and sending Mahal and Fox into the Raw side final.
There they will face the team of Finn Balor and Bayley, who overcame Mickie James and Bobby Lashley. Lio Rush is an animated mouthpiece for Big Bobby and made his presence felt, but even his antics couldn't help "his man Lashley" get to next week’s bout. Their run in the tournament came to an end when James ran into Bayley's Bayley-to-Belly finisher.
Now, next week we are set to see Mahal and Fox square off against Balor and Bayley. Given that this past week was supposed to be the end of the line for them before Strowman's injury, the odds are good that Team B will triumph next week and face Smackdown's representative in the final. If you are in the marker to make a wager, the smart money would be placed on Balor and Bayley to come out victorious.
Some people may say, “How can you bet on Pro Wrestling when the outcomes are pre-determined? The answer is simple. While that is the case, the finishes of matches are not known in advance, so they can indeed be wagered on. Much like a savvy football fan uses their knowledge of the NFL to choose which side of the point spread to bet on, WWE fans can use what they have learned about the way the company utilizes its talent to make expert decisions when it comes to who will win a match.
