Major League Wrestling is going live, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
Multiple sources have confirmed that the promotion has come to terms with its cable network home, BeIN Sports, to broadcast a live special on Friday 12/14 at 8 PM. The decision to go live is part of a deepening relationship between MLW and BeIN Sports that also saw a Spanish language version of MLW: FUSION TV launched earlier this year. There are plans for additional live broadcasts in 2019, but as of this writing, we have not confirmed how often the live specials will take place. The 12/14 special will be branded MLW: FUSION LIVE.
The MLW: FUSION LIVE special will emanate from Miami, Florida at the Scottish Rite Temple. Announced thus far for that event, which had been previously announced as a TV taping, is MLW Champion Low Ki vs. Konnan in a No DQ Street Fight, a Ladder Match for the MLW Middleweight Championship, CMLL star Rush vs. Rich Swann, Tommy Dreamer vs. Brian Pillman Jr. in a Singapore Caning match, Teddy Hart vs. Pentagon Jr. and more. PWInsider.com has not confirmed which of those bouts will be airing on the 60-minute special.
Next month’s event in Miami will be the first-ever live broadcast from the promotion, which debuted in April 2018 in BeIN Sports, taping episodes in Orlando, New York City, Chicago and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The promotion will debut this February in Philadelphia at the 2300 Arena as well.
This Friday's MLW TV episode on BeIN Sports will be headlined by Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix vs. LA Park & Hijo del LA Park. Next Friday 12/5 will be headlined by MLW Champion Low Ki vs. Shane Strickland. The promotion will then run their live special on 12/14. The scheduling of that live debut will place MLW head to head with the Ring of Honor Final Battle 2018 PPV in New York City.
