MLW FUSION REPORT: CALLIHAN VERSUS LAWLOR . . . CHICAGO STREET FIGHT

We start off with a look back at last week’s show featuring Daga challenging Low Ki for the MLW Championship, including when Low Ki pulled off part of Daga’s ear.

We see Konnan arriving at the building and he is confronted by Low Ki, Ricky Martinez, and Salina de la Renta. Low Ki asks Konnan how Daga is doing and he mentions that his ear is part of his trophy case. Low Ki says he is looking forward to adding more. Low Ki says that he tried to warn Konnan. He says that Konnan should know how things happen when you stick your nose in someone’s business. Low Ki says he will give Konnan a chance to redeem himself for his past mistakes. Low Ki suggests facing Konnan one on one.

Konnan asks Low Ki if he wants to wrestle him. He tells Low Ki to talk to him when he has something smart to say. This would have worked ten years ago but he does not wrestle or train any more. Konnan says no.

Salina says something to Konnan that forces Konnan to tell Low Ki if they keep yapping that he may get what he wishes.

Tom Lawlor has a message for Low Ki and Sami Callihan. You think you got one up on him but he knows that Low Ki is afraid. Sami’s job may have been done that day, but he will be finished when they meet in Chicago. You will not be able to run away or hide. Tom says he will take Sami’s baseball bat and shove it up his ass.

We are in Chicago, Illinois and your announcers are Tony Schiavone and Rich Bocchini.

Match Number One: Ricky Martinez (with Salina de la Renta) versus Rex Bacchus

Before the match, Martinez puts on a face mask because of his broken nose. He gives the referee his jacket to put outside the ring and Martinez with a head butt to Bacchus before the bell rings.

Martinez gyrates on top of Bacchus and then drives his head into the mat. Martinez sends his head into the mat one more time and he gets a near fall. Bacchus with a forearm and boot to the head. Martinez kicks Bacchus in the head and then chops Rex in the back. Martinez gets Bacchus on his shoudlers and hits a gourdbuster from an electric chair position and then Martinez picks up Bacchus and hits a wheelbarrow German suplex.

Martinez signals that it is over and he gets Bacchus on his shoulder for a back breaker and turns it into a piledriver for the three count.

Winner: Ricky Martinez

We go to commercial.

We are back with Tom Lawlor and Simon Gotch and Tom says he needs Simon in his corner with him. Simon apologizes for not being there recently. He says he set Tom up with a press conference, but Tom says he needs to deal with Sami first.

Joey Ryan makes his way to the ring with his arm in a sling.

Joey has something to say before the match.

Joey says you might be wondering why his arm is in a sling. Joey says last night he was wrestling in Austin, Texas on his birthday and he tore his pectoral. Joey says that is going around. He says he does not know the extent of the injury. It looks real bad and he is in a bit of pain. What is for tonight is that he promised Swoggle that he would be his partner in Chicago. Joey is not missing a Chicago show for nothing. Even with one arm, they are going to take you two on.

Match Number Two: Leo Brien and Michael Patrick versus Swoggle and Joey Ryan

Patrick hits Swoggle from behind while Brien attacks Ryan. Brien kicks Ryan to the floor and Patrick with an elbow drop to Swoggle. Patrick with another elbow drop. Brien tags in and he chokes Swoggle in the corner. Patrick with a punch to Swoggle from the apron and Brien with a punch. Brien rakes his boot laces against Swoggle’s face. Brien sends Swoggle into Patrick’s knee.

Patrick tags in and he rakes the eyes. Brien works over Swoggle in the corner. Brien tags in and Swoggle punches Brien and hits a German suplex. Ryan makes the tag and he clotheslines Brien and hits a back elbow. Ryan runs into a boot in the corner but hits a super kick. Patrick hits Ryan in the back and Swoggle with a knee to Patrick and then Swoggle with a super kick and running hip strike. Brien hits Swoggle from behind. Brien puts Swoggle in the turnbuckles but Ryan gives Brien a lollipop and Ryan hits a super kick and Swoggle with a frog splash for the three count.

Winners: Swoggle and Joey Ryan

After the match, Ryan shows his injury and he says it looks pretty bad. Joey says there is a good chance he will need surgery. If he needs to take some time off, he is glad that he got to wrestle in Chicago one more time.

We go to comments from Sami Callihan.

Sami says he has a message. All of these people want to talk smack about him on social media. They say that he is a puppet, but they pay him. Sami says he likes to make money and he likes to make money hurting people. MVP is wasting away in a boiler room. He injured Shane Strickland before his title match. He sent Jimmy Havoc back to England. If the price is right, he will end you.

Sami says he is getting in the ring with Tom Lawlor and he is not afraid of Tom even though he fought in UFC. Sami says he is afraid of himself and he is worried about what he is going to do in a Chicago Street Fight. You cannot train for the Death Machine. In Chicago, he will do what he always does and that is ending someone. He is sending Tom Lawlor back to the UFC.

We go to commercial.

We are bacl amd Battle Riot II is coming on April 5th in New York.

Konnan says he came out of retirement because he did not like what Low Ki has been saying to and about him. He says that when the underdog beats him, what will Low Ki say?

The match will take place at Zero Hour on December 14th.

LA Park will face PCO at Never Say Never on December 13th in a Falls Count Anywhwere Match. Rush faces Maxwell J Friedman.

On December 14th, at Zero Hour, Maxwell J Friedman defends the Middleweight Championship against Marko Stunt, Jason Cade, and Kotto Brazil.

Tom Lawlor says Sami wants to take the time to do Low Ki’s dirty work. It is time for Tom Lawlor to get to work. He calls Sami a troll and a punk.

We go to commercial.

Next week, Kotto Brazil faces Trey Miguel and Shane Strickland faces Low for the MLW Championship.

Shane Strickland is asked about his comments but Shane puts on his ear buds and walks away.

Match Number Three: Sami Callihan versus Tom Lawlor in a Chicago Street Fight

Before the match starts, Callihan throws chairs and other weapons into the ring.

Callihan gets a kendo stick and he charges at Lawlor as he makes his way to the ring.

Callihan swings and misses. He misses a second time and Lawlor with a rear naked choke but Callihan uses the kendo stick to try to escape. Lawlor hits Callihan with the kendo stick as the match officially starts.

Lawlor sends Callihan over the guardrails but Callihan throws a trash can at Lawlor and then dumps the contents on Lawlor. Callihan with a boot to the head and he moves the guardrails by the entrance. Callihan sends Lawlor into the guardrails. Callihan throws the guardrails at Lawlor. Callihan puts a trash can over Lawlor’s head and hits Lawlor with the kendo stick.

Lawlor uses the trash can to hit Callihan and then Lawlor throws the trash can at Lawlor. Callihan hits Lawlor with a can and they make their way to ringside. Lawlor kicks Callihan in the chest. Callihan spits at Lawlor and Lawlor continues the kicks to the chest. Callihan gouges Lawlor in the eyes. Lawlor with a forearm and then he grabs a chair and sets it down on the floor. Lawlor slams Callihan onto a chair. Lawlor sets up another chair on the floor.

Lawlor with a double wrist lock using the chair for extra damage. Lawlor hits Callihan in the back with a chair. Lawlor arranges some chairs on the floor and punches Callihan. Lawlor goes onto the apron and he sets for a power bomb off the apron. Callihan punches Lawlor and punches him. Callihan gouges Lawlor in the eyes again and piledrives Lawlor onto the apron. Callihan hits Lawlor in the back with a chair. Callihan sets up a table against the guardrails. Callihan tries to power bomb Lawlor through the table but Lawlor gets to his feet. Lawlor blocks a super kick and applies an ankle lock. Lawlor with forearms to Callihan. Lawlor throws a drink at Callihan. Lawlor punches Callihan and takes a sign from a fan. Lawlor hits Callihan with the sign.

Callihan sends Lawlor into the guardrails. Callihan chops Lawlor against the guardrails. Callihan with an elbow to the back of the head. Callihan puts Lawlor on the table and chops him. Callihan runs around the ring but he runs into a Superman punch from Lawlor. Lawlor signals for a power bomb through the table but Callihan escapes and hits a Death Valley Driver through the table. Callihan gets a spike and a video tape. Callihan stabs Lawlor in the mouth with the spike. Callihan takes the sign that Lawlor used earlier and he uses it to cut Lawlor’s mouth.

Callihan sends Lawlor into the ring for the first time in the match. Callihan breaks the video tape against the ring post. Callihan gets the tape and chokes Lawlor with it. The referee checks on Lawlor and raises the arm twice, but it does not go down a third time. Lawlor with an Olympic Slam and both men are down. Lawlor goes to the floor and he goes under the ring and grabs a table of his own. Lawlor puts the table in the corner. Lawlor kicks Callihan and sets for a running power bomb but Callihan with a low blow and piledriver. Callihan gets a near fall. Callihan goes to the floor and gets his bat. Lawlor with a low blow of his own. Callihan with a punch and Lawlor punches back. Callihan with a head butt and Lawlor with a chop. Callihan with European uppercuts but Lawlor blocks a bicycle kick and Lawlor hits a suplex. Callihan begs for mercy and he goes for the bat but Lawlor stops Callihan. Lawlor takes the bat and he breaks it over his knee. Lawlor with a rear naked choke and he gets on Callihan’s back but Callihan backs Lawlor through the table. Lawlor returns to the rear naked choke and Callihan tries to get to the ropes but Lawlor grabs a piece of the bat and stabs Callihan with it. Callihan taps out.

Winner: Tom Lawlor

After the match, Simon Gotch helps Tom Lawlor in the back. They stop by a door that says “Do Not Open” and Tom enters the room and Low Ki, LA Park, El Hijo de LA Park, Ricky Martinez, and Salina de la Renta are in there.

Simon closes the door as we go to credits.
