NEW YORK KNICK ENES KANTER EYEING PRO WRESTLING, WANTS TO BE A PAUL HEYMAN GUY

By Mike Johnson on 2018-10-18 15:07:00

New York Knicks Center Enes Kanter, 26, was profiled by Vice.com in a long piece about his basketball career, but one of the most interesting things to come out of the profile is that when he's done with the NBA, he has aspirations of making it to World Wrestling Entertainment.

The article notes that Kanter's "most intense obsession" is professional wrestling, noting how he paid tribute to The Undertaker's entrance while playing for the University of Kentucky.  The piece noted that Kanter's "knees shook" when he had the chance to meet the WWE star.

The profile also notes that he's already in contact with WWE about moving into their genre when he's done with the NBA, which he hopes will be in his mid-30s..

“I’m actually talking to the people over there now. Vince McMahon, he knows me,” Kanter told Vice.  "I had dinner with [Paul Heyman] two, three days ago. I asked him how long he’s gonna do this and he said ‘as long as Brock [Lesnar] goes, I go, and then I’m with you.’ I’m like yes! Seriously. I’m really serious about it.”

From Knicks center to the center of the squared circle?  Stranger things have happened in pro wrestling.
