WWE MAE YOUNG CLASSIC REPORT: SATOMURA VERSUS MARTINEZ, TONI STORM, AND MORE AS THE SECOND ROUND STARTS

We are in Winter Park, Florida and your announcers are Renee Young, Michael Cole, and Beth Phoenix.

Toni Storm says she is a rock star.  She is there for a fight.  She wants to win because this is her dream.  

Hiroyo Matsumoto says that she did destroy.  

Toni says she has wrestled Matsumoto many times and she knows her.  Matsumoto says she will destroy Toni.  Toni says she feels sorry for Matsumoto because she is going to the finals and she will not lose to Matsumoto.

Match Number One:  Hiroyo Matsumoto versus Toni Storm in a Round of 16 Match

They lock up and go to a stalemate.  They lock up again and Storm with a wrist lock but Matsumoto with a reversal.  Storm with a reversal of her own.  Storm with an arm bar as she takes Matsumoto to the mat.  Matsumoto with a side head lock take down.  Storm with an escape and wrist lock.  Matsumoto with a side head lock but Storm with a reversal and take down.  Matsumoto with a head scissors.  Storm escapes.

Storm offers her hand and Matsumoto shakes it but then she kicks Storm and chops her.  Matsumoto with another chop.  Matsumoto goes to the apron and she hits a cutter in the ropes.  Matsumoto goes up top and hits a missile drop kick for a near fall.  Matsumoto blocks a suplex and Matsumoto gets Storm up for a suplex of her own for a near fall.  Matsumoto with boots to Storm.  Matsumoto with a back breaker.  Matsumoto with kicks in the corner and the referee warns her.  Storm with a German suplex when Matsumoto charges into the corner.  Storm with a running hip into the corner followed by a Fisherman's suplex for a near fall.

Matsumoto with a forearm and Storm fires back.  They go back and forth and Storm with the advantage.  Matsumoto with slaps but Storm with a forearm.  Matsumoto with a clothesline. Matsumoto sets for a power bomb but Storm with a back body drop and Matsumoto rolls through and gets a near fall.  Matsumoto with a Boston Crab and she turns it into a single leg crab.  Storm gets to the ropes and Matsumoto releases the hold.  Matsumoto goes to the turnbuckles for a double knee drop and she gets a near fall.  

Storm with a head butt and German suplex for a near fall.  Storm blocks a Saito Suplex but Matsumoto is able to get a near fall.  Storm with a rollup for a near fall.  Matsumoto with a running clothesline for a near fall.  Matsumoto with a short arm clothesline and she holds on for a second one and hits it.  Matsumoto sets for a third one but Storm ducks and gets a roll up and bridge for the three count.

Winner:  Toni Storm (advances to face winner of Mia Yim versus Kaitlyn)

Rhea Ripley says she rips apart who is across the ring from her.  She treats that squared circle like she treats a circle pit.  

Kacy Catanzaro says she is in this tournament to win it.  She thinks she will surprise people and she will bring new things to the table.  She is used to being the underdog and nothing will stand in her way.

Kacy says that when people see them in the ring, they will think she has no chance.  Rhea says she will rip Kacy apart.  Kacy says she knows she can win.

Match Number Two:  Rhea Ripley versus Kacy Catanzaro in a Round of 16 Match

Kacy with a waist lock but Rhea escapes.  Rhea with a shoulder tackle.  Ripley catches Kacy on a leap frog but Kacy gets to her feet and Kacy with kicks to the leg.  Rhea blocks an IRish whip and Kacy tries to float over but Rhea catches her.  Kacy with a kick and head scissors from the apron.  Rhea tosses Kacy into the ropes and gets a near fall.  Rhea with a forearm and kicks.  Rhea goes for a suplex but Kacy with an inside cradle for a near fall.  Ripley with a drop kick and she gets a near fall.  

Ripley with a kick and she taunts Kacy.  Rhea sends Kacy face first into the mat.  Ripley gets a near fall.  Ripley with a forearm to the back and she kicks Kacy.  Rhea with a delayed vertical suplex and Ripley gets a near fall.  Rhea with a Cloverleaf but Kacy escapes.  Ripley with a kick to the head and back.  Ripley gets a near fall.  Kacy with a satellite DDT and both women are down.  Ripley falls to the floor.  Kacy with a corkscrew pescado onto Ripley.  They return to the ring and Kacy with a flying forearm and drop kick.  Kacy with a clothesline into the corner and then she goes to the apron but misses a springboard move.  Ripley with a kick but Kacy with a kick.

Kacy hits a springboard drop kick and hits a spinning splash for a near fall.  Kacy with a hand stand but Rhea with a kick to the midsection and Ripley hits Riptide for the three count.

Winner:  Rhea Ripley (advances to face winner of Nicole Matthews versus Tegan Nox)

Taynara Conti says she was born to fight.  She is the real black belt in this division.  

Lacey Lane says she is someone who you can't put your finger on.  Don't judge a book by its cover because no one knows about her.  

Lane says she knows about Conti's fight background but she is like a pitbull and she won't stop.  Conti says she will wait for the right time and Lacey will have no chance.  Lane says she will counter Conti and do what it takes to win.

Match Number Three:  Taynara Conti versus Lacey Lane in a Round of 16 Match

They lock up.  They lock up again and Conti with a hip toss.  Conti misses a clothesline and Lane goes into the ropes to get a rollup for a near fall.  Lane with a kick to the head but she misses a splash into the corner and Conti pulls Lane to the mat.  Conti with a kick to the head and then she kicks the arm when Lane holds on to the ropes.  Conti with a monkey flip and she floats over for a near fall.  Conti with a top wrist lock and she misses a clothesline.  Lane pulls Conti to the mat and hits a clothesline.  Lane with forearms to the chest and she gets a near fall.  

Conti with a knee to the midsection and she gets Lane on her back but Lane with a crucifix bomb for the three count.

Winner:  Lacey Lane (advances to face winner of Mercedes Martinez versus Meiko Satomura)

Meiko Satomura says she wants the world to know about her.  Through her performance, she wants people to know about Japanese wrestling.  

Mercedes Martinez says she fell short last year.  She says she knows what to expect this year.  This year, she is not going home losing.  She will take it all the way.

Satomura says that Martinez is know for her kicks and submissions but she has the skills to beat her.  Martinez says she will go in there and do what she does best, she will win.  

Match Number Four:  Meiko Satomura versus Mercedes Martinez in a Round of 16 Match

They lock up and Satomura with a wrist lock.  Martinez with a single leg take down and front face lock.  Martinez with a wrist lock but Satomura with a reversal.  Satomura with a hammer lock take down and she holds on to the arm bar.  Satomura iwth kicks to the chest and a leg sweep followed by a knee drop for a near fall.  Satomura with a kick to the leg and a side head lock.  Satomura with a drop toe hold into a front face lock.  Satomura with a butterfly of the arms.

Martinez with a back drop suplex for a near fall.  Martinez with a front face lock and take down.  Satomura with a head scissors and she adds more pressure to the hold.  Martinez is able to escape and she punches Satomura in the temple.  Martinez with more punches.and a chop.  Satomura with a punch and Martinez punches back.  Martinez with a choke slam for a near fall.  Martinez with elbows to the head while trapping the leg and she applies a guillotine.  Satomura with forearms to get out of the hold.  Martinez with forearms of her own.

Martinez with a European uppercut and forearms in the corner. Martinez with a chop.  Martinez with an Irish whip but Satomura blocks a kick and hits a round kick.  Satomura goes to the turnbuckles.  Martinez falls onto the ropes and it crotches Satomura.  Martinez with a swinging hanging neck breaker for a near fall.   Martinez sets for the fisherman's buster but Satomura with a Fujiwara arm bar.  Martinez tries to get to the ropes but Satomura adjusts the arm bar.  Martinez gets her feet on the ropes to force Satomura to release the hold.  Satomura with kicks to the chest.

Satomura with boots to Martinez and she goes up top again.  Satomura with a frog splash for a near fall.  Satomura with a side head lock but Martinez with a Saito suplex.  Both women are down.  Martinez gets a near fall.   Satomura with a knee and DDT for a near fall.  Satomura with a boot to the chest and she hits a DDT.  Satomura with a round off knee drop for a near fall.  Satomura gets Martinez on her shoulders but Martinez escapes.  Martinez blocks a rolling kick and Martinez with a running knee.  Martinez with a fisherman's buster for a near fall.  

Martinez gets to her feet first and she kicks Satomura in the midsection.  Martinez sets for a surfboard and locks it in.  Martinez goes for the Dragon Sleeper but Satomura blocks it and connects with elbows to escape the hold.  Satomura with a spinning heel kick and a Scorpion Kick to the head for the three count.

Winner:  Meiko Satomura (advances to face Lacey Lane)
