KILLING A DUMB VINCE MCMAHON STORY, WWE NXT TAPING TV TONIGHT, LIO RUSH-205 LIVE & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2018-09-20 10:30:00

We have gotten some emails about this, but after speaking with a source at Madison Square Garden, PWInsider.com can confirm there is absolutely nothing to the story that Vince McMahon is scheduled for a meeting with the venue.  A very high-up MSG source confirmed that the venue has had no meetings with McMahon scheduled at all and none have taken place - and that any dealings between the venue and WWE are usually done with the live events department.  Even though it's MSG, McMahon wouldn't be personally involved with the building.  The rumor making the rounds in the last week or so was that the alleged meeting might be based around McMahon trying to personally kill the ROH G1 Supercard show, but given that ROH has a contract for the date and not only are tickets already on sale, but they are pretty much sold out made the story completely ridiculous on its surface anyway.  However, we checked with MSG sources today and confirmed there is absolutely zero truth to the story - and we are only reporting on it because there are 50 emails asking about this in our Q&A email account.

WWE will be taping NXT TV tonight in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail Live.  Announced for next week's NXT TV is NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa vs. Heavy Machinery's Otis Dozovic and Lars Sullivan in action.  The next taping after tonight will be Wednesday 10/17.  If anyone is attending tonight's taping, we are seeking spoiler reports.

Add Tim White to the list of names at the WWE Performance Center this week.

The announced Lio Rush vs. Noam Dar match last night was pushed back to next week's 205 Live.  They did a vignette backstage during last night's show where Drake Maverik claimed Rush couldn't wrestle because of his obligations to Bobby Lashley.  I am guessing the idea was that Rush couldn't properly prepare.  It seemed more like they were trying to make sense of Rush's new Raw role on the 205 Live and also mentioning the Maverik relationship with Authors of Pain.  As I noted on PWInsider Elite audio this week, the 205 Live talents on Raw was a Vince McMahon idea as he wanted managers.  Since Raw is the priority, it was on 205 Live creative to figure out how to make sense of it, just like a decade ago Jim Cornette would have to somehow recraft the meticulously planned out OVW storylines to make sense of the decisions WWE would make using OVW talents on the main roster, tearing those existing plans (and sometimes characters) to shreds.

The next NXT UK tapings are 10/12 and 10/13.

Next week's episode of Total Divas features the following plot - "WrestleMania 34 starts with a bang as the Bellas support and watch Trinity, Nattie and Lana compete in the first Women's Battle Royal; Nia's anxiety goes into overdrive before her championship match; Paige comes to terms with her retirement."

Set for next week's Mae Young Classic episode is Hiroyo Matsumoto vs. Rachel Evers, Taynara Conti vs. Jessie Elaban, Nicole Matthews vs. Isla Dawn and Io Shirai vs. Xia Brookside.

WWE 2K19 released a trailer for the MyCareer aspect of the game, which this time around starts talents off on the independent scene as you try to make it to the WWE roster.  "Along the way, you’ll face alliances and adversity from some of your favorite WWE Superstars and authority figures, including Triple H, Braun Strowman and Matt Hardy."  You can watch the trailer below:
