So Bret Hart complains that Martha Hart is erasing Owen’s memory yet couldn’t find the time to attend the Wrestling Hall of Fame which inducted Owen last Saturday. Sounds hypocritical and selfish on Bret’s part. Your thoughts?

With all due respect to that Hall, I don’t see Bret as being hypocritical for not wanting to travel to Iowa for the induction.  His beef has been with Owen not being in the WWE Hall Of Fame, not any other Hall.

Isn’t Bret’s real complaint that Martha doesn’t want Owen in the WWE Hall of Fame? I’d like to see Owen in the WWE Hall of Fame but I respect and understand why Martha doesn’t want to do business with them. They put Owen in a position that cost him his life and Martha is rightfully still hurt by it because her husband and the father of her children were taken away in a tragedy that should not have happened. Bret shouldn’t have gone after Martha like he did.

Yes, that is the issue exactly, Bret wants Owen in the WWE Hall Of Fame.  I won’t say Bret is wrong here because there is a lot of gray area in the issue.  Owen was his brother and he loved him.  However, as I said on audio many times, I side with Martha here.  To me, when one gets married, their spouse becomes the number one member of their family and should be put above a person’s nuclear family if that situation arises and one side is not completely out of line.  That is the case here.  To me, Martha not wanting to have the company whose PPV her husband died on induct him into their Hall Of Fame is an understandable position.  Frankly, I would feel the same way if I were her, especially given that Owen had said he didn’t want to do the stunt in the first place because he didn’t think it was safe.

There looks to be a decent battle brewing between NXT (at the Barclays Center) and ROH / NJPW (at MSG) the Saturday night before Wrestlemania. With both those venues holding roughly 20,000 people each, and Wrestlemania probably doing 80,000 fans, half those attending Wrestlemania would need to attend one of the two events for them both to sell out. Factor in HOF, RAW, and Smackdown, and all of a sudden that's a lot Pro Wresting lol.  My question: between NXT and ROH/ NJPW, who has better buzz right now ?? I might contend NXT has peaked and may be on a bit of a downside, while the other is clearly hotter. Your thoughts ??

First off, if everyone who is going to Mania comes into town by Saturday afternoon, both venues could sell out since it would be about half of the Mania audience.  I don’t know that it would happen, but it’s definitely possible.  I am enjoying both products a lot right now.  I don’t think NXT has peaked at all.  Last week’s show, for example, was great.  We got to see Shayna Baszler continue to portray her character in a way that makes her look like a ten year pro.  We got to see Lacey Evans continue to grow into a character I could see having a lot of traction on the main roster.  We got some great stuff with The Undisputed Era.  And of course, we got a great Title match that had fantastic booking repercussions with Johnny Gargano “losing it” and helping his arch enemy.  With that said, ROH has been great lately too.  And adding in the top talent from New Japan?  At this point I think I will have to blog ROH/New Japan live and catch NXT after the fact (which the Network makes easy to do).  I think both shows will have a buzz to them.

Am I missing something with Bobby Lashley? I wasn't a huge fan of him during his first run, didn't care when he left, and am even less interested now. He has a great look but that's about it. It seems crowds on TV are pretty unenthusiastic too. Yet there he is in the top programs. His character is just kinda there. They destroyed Sami Zayn as a way to build Lashley up even though Zayn carried that feud since Bob's promos are vanilla.

If you look at the work Lashley has done in Impact, he can really go.  The problem has been in how WWE has used him.  If they turn him loose, he can do good things.  If not, he will seem bland.

Considering how the Universal championship not being defended in recent months, why has AJ Styles and the WWE championship not been headlining the pay per view shows?  Does Vince see something in AJ the performer or the storylines he's been involved in that makes him not want to have AJ close the show?

I think it’s the Title itself, not the holder.  Mike Johnson and I have gone back and forth on audio about this a lot.  My take is that in Vince’s eyes Raw is superior to Smackdown, so Raw headlines the PPVs.  It’s kind of like when CM Punk was champ.  Vince saw John Cena as THE guy, so he headlined PPVs.  That thinking has to change because when Smackdown goes to FOX, it has to be seen as Raw’s equal.
