IS VINCE BACKING OFF OF WWE, WHAT MAKES ME HAPPIEST HERE AT THE SITE, THE WOMEN’S RUMBLE AND MORE

I saw the question about what was the hardest story you covered. What makes you happiest about what you do on the site?

I have the best job in the world, I really do.  Every day is a great day.  But if you ask me what makes me happiest, it’s when I hear from someone who is going through something in their life and they tell me that the audios and the site helped them get through it.  There is nothing more gratifying than that.

Back when you were at 1Wrestling I remember another site called WrestleLine. Did you know Rick and Mike from that site?  What did you think of them?

I actually got to hang out with Rick Scaia and he was a good guy, for sure.  He posted great reviews on the net and I believe on a website he owned.  I never met Mike Samuda but in a lot of ways, he ran the first “newz” site.  It was called Micasa.  He would post recaps from hotlines, like mine, and newsletters, also like mine, with full credit to the reporter.  Then CBS came along and brought them in to work with their new site WrestleLine, and away they went.

And whatever happened to WrestleLine?  Rick and Mike seemed to disappear after a while.

Back in those days, it was the Wild West of the internet. There was a lot of money being thrown around, you just had to know how to find it. Rick and Mike weren’t in it to make money, or make it as a career like I was. I was at least a decade older than both of them. So they signed on with WrestleLine, for what I remember being told was less that what they could have gotten if they sold their ad space on their own, and basically gave away the goodwill that they had earned and the ability to monetize it to CBS SportsLine. They were caught in the middle of being attached to a bigger entity and thus didn’t get to be compensated in the way that I was at 1Wrestling.  I don’t remember exactly what happened but at some point CBS pulled the plug  on the site.

What do you think of 205 live piggy backing on the NXT Takeover specials and maybe having one or two matches since they aren't on the main PPVs anymore.

It wouldn’t hate it but I just don’t think that there is enough time to get the NXT stuff and 205 stuff on Takeover events.  I really love that they are not super long shows like WWE shows are and I would hate if they added another hour to them.

Everyone was hoping Ronda Rousey would be the 30th entrant for the women's Royal Rumble match, so it was wise booking to have Trish Stratus be the 30th entrant if it wasn't going to be Ronda.  If the 30th entrant was anyone else but Trish, do you think the live crowd would have turned on the match just like they did during the one Royal Rumble match when Rey Mysterio was the final entrant and not Daniel Bryan?

I would hope not because the women didn’t deserve that.  I would think that WWE would have saved someone special for the last spot, knowing that the fans turning was a possibility.

So Vince McMahon wasn't at the meetings with Fox and instead was George Barrios, Michelle Wilson, Paul Levesque, and Stephanie McMahon. The fact that Vince wasn't there, is that a sign that he is slowing down in his role as chairman rather than leading on?

Not really, no.  He has very talented people in place in the WWE hierarchy and he allows them to do their jobs.  What I take from it is that whenever Vince McMahon is not in charge any longer, the company is in good hands going forward.
