The 7/19 Major League Wrestling BattleRiot event in New York City will air on BeIN Sports as a two hour special, MLW announced today. We are told the negotiations for the special closed earlier today just before the announcement was made. There had been an offer on the table to make the show a taped PPV event, but MLW owner Court Bauer felt that making the show a special on broadcast TV would be a stronger play towards getting attention for the brand and getting the product in front of fans. The special will air on 7/27.
Announced thus far for the event, which will be held at the Melrose Ballroom in Long Island City:
40 Man Battle Riot Match featuring Rich Swann, Jason Cade, Joey Ryan, Pierre Carl Oulette, Kevin Sullivan, ACH, Swoggle, John Morrison, Lance Anoa’i, Konnan, Sami Callihan, Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Teddy Hart with more to be announced.
*The Hart Foundation, Teddy Hart & Davey Boy Smith Jr. (with Brian Pillman II) vs. ACH and Rich Swann.
*Low Ki vs. John Hennigan.
*Jimmy Havoc vs. Pentagon Jr.
