WHAT I WOULD DO IF I WERE CM PUNK, CO BRANDED PPVS, NAKAMURA’S PUSH AND MORE

WWE brings up Shinsuke Nakamura, fans go crazy, sing along with his theme when he enters.  Special entrance at Wrestlemania.  He's turned  heel, song is changed, becomes a cross between Draymond Green and Chris Paul with his low blows.  Worse, he's pretty much dominated by AJ Styles and hardly looks like a rock star, superstar, or anything else.   Where does Nakamura go from here, and why has been buried so badly?

It sure looks like the US Title picture is where he is headed.  It’s a shame because he had so much more to offer, in my opinion.  The reason he did not get pushed better is due to the boss.  He makes the calls on these things and decides who he sees money in and who he doesn’t.  Or even who he sees big money in vs. who he sees some money in.

I noticed on the 6/18 Money in the Bank PPV that former superstar Raymond Rougeau was doing the French announcing. Has he always been in that position or was he recently rehired?

He came back to WWE last year if memory serves.  He has been back for a while now!

Given that Dr. Amann said in testimony that he shared CM Punk’s health with other people, should Punk sue for HIPAA damages?  Would you blame him if he did since it turned out that there wasn’t much to Amann’s lawsuit against him?

I am not a lawyer and don’t play one on TV so I can just give you my gut feeling.  I don’t know what tangible damages Punk could prove he suffered by Amann’s admission of sharing his medical condition with Chris Jericho.  It would seem that the violation happened, given the testimony, but I don’t know that it damaged him in a way that would get a nice settlement.  If it meant spending money on a lawyer to win against Amann, but come out poorer, I don’t see the point.  But no, I wouldn’t blame Punk for taking action.  The trial had to have been really brutal on him.  If it were me, I would have some bad feelings about what went down.  I would have my lawyer call every medical governing body that he could find and report Amann for sharing my health condition without my permission and at least get it on his record.

With Smackdown Live! moving to the Fox network in 2019, could they ask that SDL! have there own branded PPV's again? And would WWE be willing to do it?

I don't see why they would want that.  FOX should want matches on every PPV to keep interest up in their TV product.  It makes more sense to be on every show than to miss a month.

A lot of people would love a few wrestling companies like Impact and ROH to get bought out by WWE so they can get their tape libraries. Instead of these companies being bought out, could you see them coming to a deal that would let them show their content on the WWE network? They would get a ton of exposure on the network and WWE would have access to the footage for video packages. Surely it would be a win win for both parties.

I don’t see what’s in it for WWE to be honest.  All it would really do is expose ROH and Impact to their Network audience, which in Impact’s case is about four times what they draw on Pop in the US.  It would be great for Impact to get a payday, but it does nothing for WWE.  In ROH’s case, they have started their own streaming service and are owned by Sinclair Broadcasting, which is a huge entity that is only going to get bigger.
