Are we in for a Smaller Notch?
The iPhone X is undoubtedly the most beautiful phone I have ever used with the only real criticism being the notch, although the rest of the phone has that fantastic OLED screen.
The complaints about the notch has led to speculation that the next iPhone (due to be released this coming September) will house a reduced sized notch leading to a whole family bearing a smaller notch which means that the majority of the screen will be covered in nothing but the OLED colours.
Other reports state that Apple could be ready to deploy its TrueDepth 3D sensor across the iPhone range in 2018 as well as adding it to the iPad Pro refresh. The sensor may also be reduced in size (the smaller notch) making the devices look even more attractive than ever.
For those that don't own a smartphone (yes, there are some!) all of this speculation and hype about future releases might seem a bit over the top, but when you do finally become a smartphone user then you soon begin to realise just why others get so excited.
In fact, to lose one or to have one stolen is a minor disaster for many, there are even new words that have been recognised that relate to the smartphone user. For example, phubbing is short for phone snubbing which is when a person pays more attention to their phones than to the person they are with.
We have come to rely on our smartphones for so much more than simple calls or texting. We browse, shop for good and services and source our entertainment, and there is a lot of choice out there too. Gone are the days where you could not play a game without it crashing half way through, today we can enjoy bingo on mobile phone and a range of other, classic games that can be played whenever and wherever we choose.
Actually, online bingo has enjoyed somewhat of a comeback as the game transferred over to the smaller screen perfectly. Now, instead of the stereotypical idea of bingo being played by the older generation, it is, in fact, enjoyed by a much younger audience who also enjoy the social side of online bingo as well as the game itself.
But one thing is for certain, and that is the rumours and the speculations will ramp up in volume the nearer we get to launch date, and we will be treated to many leaks of information and pictures of the 'supposed' new model.
