One person who has been very vocal ever since Joshua-Parker fight was announced recently is the U.S.-based current WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. As per him, the Kiwi boxer Joseph Parker holds one major advantage over Joshua in their upcoming heavyweight title fight on March 31.

The highly anticipated event will see the British champion going up against Parker and putting his unbeaten record, WBO, IPO, WBA Super and IBF titles on the line, as both of them aim at becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis won that title in the year 1999. The fight has also started garnering a lot of attention in the bookmaking circles. There’s been plenty of Joshua vs Parker betting activity happening lately, with bookies offering all kinds of lucrative markets to the interested punters.

Many experts are of the opinion that Antony Joshua’s scale and size would prove a lot for Parker to handle on March 31, however, Deontay Wilder believes otherwise. Talking to press, Wilder recently issued a statement that people shouldn’t get deceived by the chiselled physique of the Brit boxer. In his opinion, just because someone has a muscular body doesn’t mean that he can easily walk around destroying everybody who comes his way. He encourages people to be the part instead of looking the part, as the latter can’t get anyone anywhere. He spoke about seeing many people looking the part, but failing miserably when the time came to perform on the stage.

Apparently Wilder and Parker have been talking to each other and the former has advised Parker on the different aspects of his game he should work on while preparing for the fight.

Wilder told the media, "I think Parker is good at where he is to be a little bit slender, not having too much muscle because when you start bulling too much muscle mass your flexibility starts to decrease. Parker will also have to be mobile which I think he will do a pretty good job of. The things I'm telling you now I've told him before, because we talk. He is going to have to continue to punch while he moves and keep his head moving. If he can do that, he will see openings and see some of the weakness Joshua has.”

"On the flip side Joshua is going to have to be more flexible, he is going to have to move his head more. I hope his conditioning is well put because he is going to need that…if he doesn't have that there could be problems, if Parker knows how to handle the situation,” he further stated.

The 32-year old American boxer would be working with Sky Sports UK and covering the fight. He is expected to face the winner of this boxing bout later this year. Wilder has no qualms about admitting that he’s hoping for Joshua to win this match as it would bring the heavyweight boxing division back to its glory days, and will also give him a good shot at the title.
