This Sunday night, WWE will present The Royal Rumble PPV. For the first time, there will a Women’s match, contested under the same rules that the men use in their bout.
In both cases, the winner will go on to challenge their brand’s Title belt at WrestleMania on April 8 in New Orleans, LA, so there is a lot on the line this Sunday and WWE’s biggest PPV of the year will start to take shape by the time the Rumble event ends.
On the men’s side, provided both current champions come out of their respective title matches on Sunday, the winner here will either challenge MMA Online and legend Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, or the WWE World Champion, The Phenomenal AJ Styles. The field is wide open this year. Given that the Raw brand has a PPV next month, where they can set up the rumored Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns Universal Title match, the winner looks like it will come from the Smackdown side.
With WWE attracting hardcore fans from around the world for WrestleMania, it would make a lot of sense to give them a dream Title match when they arrive in The Big Easy. The perfect person to do that is Japanese legend Shinsuke Nakamura.
On the women’s side, a lot of the intrigue was removed from the match when former UFC headliner Ronda Rousey stated that she did not have a contract with WWE and would be out of the country on Sunday filming a movie.
With Rousey out of the mix, the 1xbetto win the first Women’s Rumble is Japanese legend destroyer Asuka!
Asuka has been on a path of destruction since her call up from NXT and already holds a win over Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss. It seems the next step in her ascension to the top of WWE will take place on Sunday, when she wins the first ever Women’s Rumble, and her shot at the gold on April 8.
