The 2019 WWE Royal Rumble will be held in Phoenix, Arizona at Chase Field, the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday 1/27/19. The retractable roof Stadium can hold 48,519 for baseball.
The Rumble in Phoenix will be the first WWE PPV held in a Major League Baseball stadium since 2003's Wrestlemania XIX, which was held in Seattle's Safeco Field, headlined by Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle and Vince McMahon vs. Hulk Hogan. There have been talks in recent weeks that WWE has been looking at MLB stadiums for PPVs, including potential future Wrestlemania sites.
The 2019 Rumble PPV announcement, which you can read by clicking here, was made this morning via an article in The Arizona Republic newspaper. An official WWE press release regarding the event should be coming shortly.
The Rumble weekend in Phoenix will also feature an NXT Takeover as well as post-Rumble Raw and Smackdown broadcasts, all emanating from the nearby Talking Stick Resort Arena.
