During today's New Japan World Tag League final, former WWE Undisputed champion Chris Jericho made a surprise appearance in Fukuoka, Japan to lay out Kenny Omega and build towards their 1/4/18 Tokyo Dome match.
After Omega had teamed with The Young Bucks to defeat Roppongi 3.0 and Rocky Romero, a video aired of Jericho cutting a promo on Omega. When the video ended and the lights in the venue went back on, Jericho was in the ring behind Omega and attacked him, laying him out with a series of Codebreakers and busting him open after striking him with the IWGP United States championship belt.
Announcer Don Callis got in the ring and had a back and forth with Jericho before being attacked as well. Callis was stretchered out of the building.
Jericho posted the following video on Instagram following the angle:
Jericho vs. Omega will air on AXS TV on 1/6/18 as part of the cable network's coverage of the Wrestle Kingdom event.
