WWE star Rich Swann is no longer listed as being held at Alachua County Jail in Gainesville, Florida, so it appears he was released this afternoon. We do not have details regarding his release yet, but can confirm that Swann's case has been assigned to a Judge.
Following an incident with his wife early Sunday, Swann has been charged with Kidnapping/False imprisonment. In the State of Florida, that is a third-degree felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine if convicted. Swann has also been charged with Battery - touching or striking, a first degree misdemeanor in Florida, with penalties of up to one year in jail or 12 months probation and a $1,000 fine upon conviction. In the wake of his arrest, WWE announced his suspension.
The story has been picked up nationally by the Associated Press, leading to a number of outlets, including the New York Times running articles about it today with more articles coming tomorrow.
Obviously, there will be more to the story in the coming days. We will update as soon as we confirm additional details.
