Chaotic Wrestling “Breaking Point”

Chaotic Wrestling presents their biggest show of the fall with Breaking Point, featuring Ryback and the first ever “Caged Chaos” match. It also features what should be the blow-off for the long running feud over their Heavyweight Title between Elia Markopolous and “The Kingpin” Brian Milonas.
Brian Milonas came out dragging a referee with him. He wasn’t waiting. He called Elia a paper champion and said everyone here hates him, so he wants the match now.
MATCH ONE: Chaotic Heavyweight Title – Tables Match – Elia Markopolous (c) v. “The Kingpin” Brian Milonas
Genius move doing this, as I actually had the same thought for this. It hasn’t been connecting with the crowds over the last few months, so to give it shock value and throw it on right away was a fantastic call.
This was a brawl all the way. The crowd was solidly behind Milonas, even though Elia was supposed to be the babyface during the feud. They went to the floor and teased a powerbomb through the announce table, but it didn’t happen.
Milonas went to legdrop Elia through a table, but Elia moved and Milonas crashed through it. It wasn’t over, as you have to put your opponent through the table to win. There was a table set up in the corner. Milonas went for a powerbomb, but Elia snuck out the back and speared Milonas through it for the win. Solid opener.
WINNER: Elia Markopolous
MATCH TWO: Top Talent Battle Royal – Winner faces Christian Casanova later tonight – Participants: Tripilicious, Robo the Punjabi Lion, DL Hurst, Dan Terry, Brett Domino, Scotty Slade, Johnny, Luke, Casey Courageous, Travis “Flip” Gordon
Casanova’s manager is taking part, seemingly to eliminate anyone from getting to his client. This even though he set the whole thing up. Okay.
Everyone in the match, except for Flip, banded together to eliminate Robo. Good way to keep him strong.
Final four were Flip, Hurst, Tripilicious and Slade. Flip eliminated Hurst. Slade was on the apron when Tripilicious went to slam into Flip, but Flip moved and Trips sent Slade out to the floor. Then Flip eliminated Trips to win it. It was what it was. Casanova attacked Flip after the match, but Flip sent him packing.
WINNER: Travis “Flip” Gordon
MATCH THREE: Christian Casanova v. Travis “Flip” Gordon
Casanova didn’t want to wait and it was on.
Fantastic match between the two. Gordon really is on another level when it comes to athleticism and aerial offense, and his confidence and timing has improved since he was last with Chaotic. Casanova did a great job in the heel role.
The finish saw Gordon finish it with a springboard twisting Stunner to a huge ovation.
WINNER: Travis “Flip” Gordon
MATCH FOUR: New England Championship – Josh Briggs (c) v. Maxwell Jacob Friedman
MJF cut a promo, making fun of the Boston accent. He said Josh is a loser, just like everyone in the building, and he will become the new champion.
The story of the match was MJF going to work on the arm of Briggs, while Briggs threw every crazy thing he could at him to put him away. This included an Undertaker-style dive over the corner to the floor, which was particularly insane and got a massive pop from the crowd.
They went back and forth with some wild moves until Briggs finished it with a chokeslam into a backcracker for the win. Really great match, as both guys are on a clear path to the top of the independent scene, and on the verge of what could be a classic feud.
WINNER: Josh Briggs
MATCH FIVE: JT Dunn (with Sammi Lane) v. Warbeard Hanson
At Cold Fury in 2016, Dunn & Hanson unsuccessfully challenged for the Tag Team Titles. Dunn later turned heel and Hanson didn’t like it, so he challenged him at Cold Fury in 2017. After some underhanded tactics, Dunn defeated Hanson. This is the rematch.
Hanson was in control until Sammi got involved. Hanson was ready to slap them both as he lay them on top of the corner, but the ref pulled Sammi away. As he did that, Dunn low blowed Hanson and he started the heat on him.
They went back and forth toward the end of the match. Hanson missed a moonsault and JT hit Death By Elbow, but Hanson kicked out and the crowd popped. JT pushed the ref. Lane came in and jumped on Hanson’s back. Hanson kept her there, then kicked JT in the gut and hit a double underhook powerbomb for the win. Good match. I question why another part timer is going over, but if it leads to something down the line, then it could work out.
WINNER: Warbeard Hanson
MATCH SIX: Ryback v. Brick Mastone
Not much to this one, which is too bad because both guys were working really hard. They went back and forth, but they lost the crowd early on. The crowd was into Brick, but he spent the majority of the match selling. He hit a big spear for a nearfall that got the crowd up.
Ref took a bump. Brick grabbed a chair and went to use it. That brought in the returning referee Kevin Quinn, who had previously been kidnapped in a storyline that went nowhere. Quinn ended up spearing Brick, which allowed Ryback to hit the Shell Shock for the win.
WINNER: Ryback
MAIN EVENT: Caged Chaos – The Mill City Hooligans (Chase Del Monte and Matt & Bryan Logan) v. Mike Verna & The Cam-An Connection (Cam Zagami & “All Good” Anthony Greene)
This is essentially a one-ring War Games match, except with elimination rules. As I did in my last report, I should note that this match has been in their plans for months, lest anyone think they’re ripping off NXT.
Verna started out with Matt. Early on, Bryan threw powder in the face of Verna from the outside to give the Logans the advantage.
After five minutes, Bryan entered to make it two on one. They worked over Verna until Cam entered. He ran wild for a bit, but the Logans gained the advantage. Del Monte was in last to make it 3 on 2.
The heels were dominating when Anthony Greene entered last. The heels blocked him from coming in the door, so he was trying to go around and climb in. As the Hooligans were all looking at Greene, Verna and Zagami recovered and hit them all with a low blow.
Greene climbed up to get in and took the Hooligans down with a dive from the top of the cage. Later, Bryan went to the top of the cage and hit a somersault plancha to everyone.
Verna eliminated Bryan with a spinning uranage. He then eliminated Matt with the same move. It was down to everyone against Chase.
They all took turns beating him down when Greene suddenly kicked Verna low. He then threw a fireball in Cam’s face. He placed Chase on top of Cam, who got the pin. Greene then took both tag title belts and left the cage. This left Chase and Verna. Del Monte took a powerbomb into the cage. He fell to the mat. He then signaled that something was wrong. His wrist got caught up in the mat and he was bleeding. His arm got stuck in some wiring in the cage and he couldn’t get it loose. Chaos ensued. The match was stopped and a paramedic was brought in. They were able to cut him loose. They then restarted the match and the Logans, who came to check on Chase, dropped Verna and Chase scored the win. It was a real life situation that could have gone way worse, and everyone involved did the right thing, first by stopping the match, and then going to a quick finish when everything was okay. Del Monte now gets a Heavyweight Title shot.
WINNERS: The Mill City Hooligans
This was a really well done show. Some nice storyline twists and some interesting match-ups going forward.
