Some updates for Wrestlecon over Wrestlemania weekend in New Orleans, LA next April:
*The convention aspect of the event will be expanded this year from two days to three, with autograph signings, meet and greets and photo opportunities on Friday (9 AM - 3 PM) and Saturday (9 AM - 3 PM) while Sunday (9 AM - 3 PM) is being organized with the idea of being something of a pre-Wrestlemania tailgate sort of event with entertainment, as Wrestlecon is within walking distance of the Superdome. Since the event is expanding over three days this time around, it will also likely close late afternoon as opposed to early evening, keeping themselves from competing with the live events taking place all over the city that weekend.
*Combat Zone Wrestling will not be holding their annual Best of the Best Junior Heavyweight tournament and will be presenting a different concept for their Wrestlemania weekend event.
*The live events for Saturday 4/7 are going to be scheduled so that fans can attend all of them but still make the NXT Takeover event. The plan is to stay "dark" during NXT and then run House of Hardcore an hour after the NXT event ends. One of the reasons the Wrestlecon Supershow is being moved to Thursday is so that it's not running opposite NXT or the WWE Hall of Fame.
*There is a possibility that other independent promotions may have some sort of presence at Wrestlecon in forms of talents or matches that represent their promotions over the course of the Wrestlecon live events that weekend.
The current live event schedule:
Thursday 4/5 6 PM to 8:30 PM– Wildkat Entertainment
Thursday 4/5 9:30 PM - WrestleCon Supershow
Friday 4/6 12 Noon to 2:30 PM – The Crash (Mexico)
Friday 4 PM to 6:30 PM – Revolution Pro (UK)
Friday 9 PM - Impact Wrestling
Saturday 4/7 11 AM to 2 PM – Pro Wrestling Revolver “Pancakes and Piledrivers”
Saturday 4 PM til 6:30 PM – Combat Zone Wrestling
Saturday One hour after WWE NXT event ends - House of Hardcore
*Wrestlemania Sunday 4/7, Wrestlecon will hold its annual Mania Moments Breakfast.
Tickets for a three day pass to the April 2018 festivities as well as Wrestlecon's Wrestlemania Sunday 'Mania Moments' Brunch are now on sale at www.Wrestlecon.com. Tickets for individual convention sessions will also go on sale at a later date.
